We learned what inclusion was and how some people view inclusion. We learned that their are some teachers that do not believe in inclusion and are always relying on the IS to help out the student. We learned how important it was to include every student no matter the disability. I love seeing teachers use inclusion because these students need to be with their peers.

We learned what an IEP was and the process for a student to get an IEP. An IEP is an individualized education plan. This is a document with a students disability and all the supports and resources they are given and the teacher has to allow these services. It takes a lot of time and effort for an IEP, there is a whole team involved and it can be very draining. As the teacher you need to be able to show data to parents and be able to say what you think would help the student

This was a very interesting because we learned about different disabilites and learned the strengths all these people have and the challenges that come along with the disability. I found it interesting when we learned that ADHD is growing but I was not surprised by this because social media is growing and we are so used to watching 1 minute or less clips. We also learned ADHD is higher for boys than girls. I found it sad when we learned that people with traumatic brain injuries are not getting special services

The takeaways I got from this is that we are punishing and making children not have an education because of them having diverse backgrounds. I learned that their are many children doing school remote in rural areas because there is a high unemployment in some areas. We also learned how poverty has a huge impact on a students education and even more importantly their health. These students are more likely to have illness and diseases and cannot receive medical care

This lesson was about co-teaching and the challenges that can come with it. It takes a lot of time to plan out your lessons, how you guys are going to run your classroom and when you are going to take time to figure all this out. You are not always going to be able to agree on things but that is when you have to come together and do whats best for the students. You guys are on a team ! Co-teaching can be very benefical to students and I have been considering co-teaching as well

I learned what the ecological assessment was, this is when you are analyzing the features of the learning environment and the key skills that can effect the students academic, behavioral and social performance. The other thing I learned was teaching your students cultural norms, this can be as simple as teaching them to raise their hand if they have a question. and finally I learned how much goes into transitioning into adulthood but their are many services and programs that can help out with this.

We learned that self-esteem has a huge impact on students. We also learned on tier 3 you need create a diverse multidisciplinary team, identify the problematic behaviors, define behavior and observe and record behavior. I thought it was good when they talked about doing self-management interventions. You can do self-evaluations, this is good for you and your students to do because you can be aware of what you are doing and know what is going on with you and your students

We learned the difference between formative and summative assessments. Formative assessment is when you assess during instruction to monitor students learning. Summative assessments is an assessment at the end of the instruction to measure mastery of content concepts and skills taught, there are state assessment, district benchmarks, end of unit assessment, standards-based assessment. Refrain from "dumbing down" the content instead think about the language you are using, use language that is going to make sense to the students

I learned what collaborative discussion teams were, this is when teams will answer, react to material and predict what will happen next. It is important to have a growth mindset because this allows teachers to see students' potential and does not view intelligence as a fixed entity. We learned the difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is motivation that is driven by interest or enjoyment in the task itself and exist within individual rather then relying on any external pressure. Extrinsic motivation is referring to the performance of an activity in order to attain an outcome

I will use all these by knowing my students IEP and what is on them so I can provide the services I can. I also can use large group instruction to get the lesson out there and then break into small group and work with the students so they can get more one-on-one instruction. I also will be using inclusion in my classroom for sure because I believe this is very important and I believe in inclusion. I want all my students to be included and feel comfortable in my classroom. I think co-teaching is also important because you can get extra hands in the classroom and bounce ideas off your partner. I think also when I mentioned cultraul norms is also very important and something that I will be doing in my classroom because teaching students not blurt out in class is good because it teaches them to respect. I also think knowing the strength and challenges of my students is important because then as their teacher I can figure ways to make the activity easy for them to do. but are still having a little challenge with it. I think the idea of formative and summative assessments is also good because you can see what is working and what isnt working. I also will be doing self-evaluations because then you as the teacher can also see what you can do better and check yourself before moving on to something else.
