         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2000 there was talks of building a resort on the reef but was shut down after a persistent fight against it. However, to this day&nbsp; they are still trying to build the resort. They have also created  the Ningaloo Collaborative Research Center which examines tourism development and management.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One&nbsp; threat to the reef is bleaching due to rising water temperatures. Another threat would be a weakening of the limestone reef structures and a reduced rate of coral formation due to ocean acidification. A third threat would be increased damage to the reef due to more frequent and intense weather events such as cyclones and flooding.</div><div><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
