Although he constantly reflects and reminisces on past experiences wherein he felt detached from being a Filipino, he does not really show initiative in knowing or learning more about this part of his identity. In the latter part of the essay, I can describe the author as more pensive as he realizes how detached he is from several aspects of his heritage such as knowing the language and ways of life as a Filipino.
