Despite France having more soldiers and a better military, the Germans caught France off-guard, using their innovative Blitzkrieg tactics, the Germans blew past the  the heavily fortified Maginot Line by launching a surprise attack through the Ardennes Forest. Overwhelmed, the French and it's allies couldn't launch an effective defense. Within a matter of weeks, Paris fell, and France was forced to surrender.</p>]]></description>
