Topic Sentence
Shakespeare uses the symbol of snake to describe the lies of Iago.
Evidence
In the poster for Masterpiece theater, Iago is presented whispering to Othello, with a hand covering his mouth, while a snake also comes out of his mouth.
Explanation
Through the use of the snake symbol, Iago is presented as lying to Iago while whispering. Snake is often known as lying and deception. In this case, Iago is lying to Othello on the cheating of Desdemona and Casio which he made up. He is whispering, which results in Othello believing that the cheating of Desdemona is actually real.

Both posters use symbolic actions to the theme of trust; however, they are the complete opposite symbol meanings leading to the conflicts each describes. In Teatro Da Renascenca Apresenta, there is a knife cutting through the wedding cake of Othello and Desdemona, showing power. While in the Masterpiece Theater, has the snake symbol coming out of Iago's mouth.
