If there is an issue, I’ll talk about it with the student, but they’ll start fresh the next day."</em></div><div><strong>2) What does Union do to build a community and positive relationships with students?</strong><br><em>"Teachers and staff make a lot of attempts to connect with students. Students make and share videos to connect with other students. There are many clubs on campus."</em></div><div><strong>3) What could Union do to improve?</strong><br><em>"There are so many demands for teachers, it’s hard to find time to come together as a staff and build our own culture.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Student<br><br><strong>1) What do you like about Union? What makes it special from other schools you have attended?</strong><br><em>I feel like everybody here is actually a family. I'm on the football team and realized how close they are. For example, everyone makes sure our teammates have a ride home and get there safely. My first couple days at Union, other students introduced themselves and welcomed me. The kids welcoming me came from all different groups.</em><br><strong>2) Do you have a positive relationship with at least one staff member</strong><strong><em>?</em></strong><em><br>I have a positive relationship with Mr. Mickelson. For example, he noticed I was late to first period a lot and offered to call me in the morning to wake me up.</em><br><strong>3) What can Union do to improve?</strong><br><em>I'm not sure.  I come to school and am happy to be at Union.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Associate Principal<br>What does Union do to build a community and positive relationships with students?<br>At Union we strive to learn the "kid story". Teachers intentionally focus on the relationship and learning about their students. Some teachers are utilizing restorative practices that are proven to be highly effective. We've seen students completely turn around after interventions and meetings with teachers who meet in their PLC group to share what works and what does not.&nbsp;<br>    The students report the feeling of belonging and being supported regardless of their history in school. </div>]]></description>
