What stands out to me, is that the picture is in black and white and not color. All of the helicopters are the same color. there all going the same direction. Everyone is getting off the helicopters and going to war. The grass is all blown all over from the helicopters landing. There is paths in the grass from where people walk. The grass also looks really talk and hard to walk through. The sky looks dark/cloudy.

The information I was given with is image is. Title: Vietnam war: a timeline of U.S entanglement.
Information behind the image. American soldiers are dropped off by the U.S Army Helicopters to join south Vietnamese ground troops to advance in the attack on a Viet long camp 18 miles north of Tay Ninh, northwest of Saigon neat the Cambodian border in march 1965 during the Vietnam war.

My perspective: Who? The U.S Army soldiers. What? People are going into the war. Where? 18 miles north of Tay Ninh, northwest of Saigon neat the Cambodian border. When? 1965 during the Vietnam war. Why? They need people to fight in the war so we can win.

This photo is telling me that a lot goes on during a war. Also that there are new soldiers coming in, and hurt one leaving all the time. Also the people in the helicopters have to worry all the time about getting to the right place, also has to not get shot down. Shows me that you have to know what's going on at all times so you don't get killed.

chapter of the book

I think how to tell a true war story was the most interesting chapter for me.
summary: Rat's friend, Curt Lemon, is killed and Rat writes Lemon's sister a letter. The letters talk about crazy stunts her brother attempted. Rat thinks his letter is ok and personal. however Lemon"s sisters things its inapporopiate . His sister never writes back.

I chose this chapter because I think its smart that he writes to his sister after he dies. Just so she knows what's going on In the war and curt himself. But also she finds his letters disturbing and gross. But also I would think it would be nice to know what is going on in the war.

I think this chapter is included in the book because.. You have to understand what is going on in the war. Also you have to know how they talk to people who are not in the war. But also how hard it can be to lose someone that was fighting in the war.

This teaches me that you in the war not everything is gonna be good. and that you can get killed at anytime. but also how hard it is to talk to your loved ones.

Another hundred of there service men are maimed and wounded. Hundreds more are missing in action. The grim statistics are that since 1961 the United States has suffered more then 60,000 casualties.

I have learned that there is a lot of casualties in the U.S . And a lot around this time too. Also that a lot of people get sent home dead.
