In order to do this, we had to accumulate a large sum of money to distribute a lot of food. Therefore, we had to organize a Fundraiser. As a group we resorted to selling stickers to people across all years. At the end of the fundraising event, we managed to collect $764 dollars. Then on the 26th of May we went to Amitabar(near Whampoa) and bought boxes of food to distribute. Because of tides, trash from the oceans are frequently carried onto shore and stay there. This isn't ideal for the locals or visitors going to the beach as they are not able to make a difference by themselves. It is only with organized beach clean ups with volunteers that these beaches don't turn into landfills. It was an extremely inspiring and motivating movie! Key messages that were advocated in this movie were:

2. The journey to safety starts with goodbyes
3. Transportation is often risky and dangerous

I did this so that I can get more information on how the community functions and how we were able to help the people in need. I gave stuff that was very easy to prepare and lasted at least half a year or a whole year. I got flavored noodles, non-flavored noodles and some soup as they lasted long and the person who got this would be able to experience wide range of flavors. These supplies included: Tooth brushes & pastes, hair brushes, toiletries, canned food, toys, lip balm & oils, and more! We managed to collect over 40 items to donate to a refugee union which is a refugee -led centre in Hong Kong which supports other refugees. Once they recieved our parcel they took this image and sent it to us!

There was approximately 11 people, including us, who came to the beach cleanup. The area in Silverstrand beach that we cleaned up was at the rocky area near the coast rather than the sandy area, which is cleaned by the government. The team we went with supplied us with materials such as gloves, tongs, and trash bags. We were there for an hour before it started raining heavily. In the end, everyone who participated in the cleanup managed to get a total of 26 bags full of trash, which each bag was around 5kg each.
