My first job out of college was a Programs Assistant for the International Center at my alma mater, UC Irvine. I learned a lot in that job - most importantly that I didn't enjoy strict student affairs programming work. 

What led you to work in this field?
I was a tour guide and orientation leader at UCI, and those two roles were the most formative part of my college experience. I loved sharing my own experiences and talking about a place I loved while mentoring new students through their transition to college.
After my contract with the International Center ended, I was fortunate to be hired back into the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UCI and worked my way from the equivalent of Credentials into my most recent role running the entire visitor experience at UCI.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
Less screentime! I feel like I am always staring at screens and miss life where screens weren't necessary at all time.That said, bring back RomComs!!!!

What do you enjoy doing to relieve stress?
I have played taiko almost my entire life, and that is a great way to relieve stress.

What is your favorite place to eat on campus?
Well, it was Ike's, but that doesn't exist anymore. Favorite place to eat is Tresidder Union, but my favorite food item on campus is the grilled cheese and tomato soup from Olive's Cafe.

Going up the Bamiyan Valley Cliff through the caves that were carved surrounding the Bamiyan Buddhas, I used to look at the paintings on the wall not knowing they were painted 15 centuries earlier. Finally, when I reached the highest cave (almost as high as Buddha Salsal’s head, about 170-175 feet high) I would look back at the valley as if I was looking through the Buddha’s eyes.

How many languages do you speak?

Almost 6; Persian, Arabic, Pashto, Hindi ( Conversational Hindi, Can't read or write) , Urdu and English
