         <description><![CDATA[<div>Electric cars have no direct carbon emission. Direct emission is emission directly from the car.&nbsp;<br>To produce the electricity for the EV's power-plant's emit carbon instead of the car. Using green energy sources helps to reduce carbon emission.<br><br>The EV's are still greener than combustion engine cars because they are more efficient. EV's use 80-90% of the energy compared to 20-30% for regular combustion engines.<br><br>EV's carbon emission depends on the electricity production's emission. If this is low the EV's emission is low and vice-versa.<br><br>Lithium, which is used in batteries, is harsh on the environment to extract.<br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>19th Century</strong><br>The first electric vehicles were created by inventors when oil was hard to find and expensive. Electric cars became more popular by the turn of the 20th century, because they were more efficient and cleaner than gasoline-fueled cars.<br><br><strong>1911</strong><br>Inventon of the starter motor for the petrol car, meant that electric cars became less popular again.<br><br><strong>First World War</strong><br>Vastly improved reliability of petrol cars aswell as Ford's innovation in efficient production methods whittled away the price advantage of electric cars.<br><br><strong>1960s and 1970s</strong><br>An oil crisis sparked a new wave of interest in electric vehicles (EVs), but this was short lived as the fuel prices dropped again.<br><br><strong>Mid-1990s</strong><br>GM's EV1 was invented, which sparked hope of an electric revolution, but it was scrapped a decade later.<br><br><strong>Current</strong><br>Consumer and government demands for cleaner more efficient vehicle, have made manufacturers design new hybrid- and electric cars. <br><br><strong>Future</strong><br>China and the US intend to have a million EVs on the road by 2020.</div>]]></description>
