This shell found its way into my hands where I now use it to burn sage for smudging, prayer and cleansing energies. What other purposes can you think of, or know of for abalone shell? In the middle of the clip you will hear a short snippet of a sundance ceremony song about the white tailed deer  running through the forest, gifted to me by Davita Marsden - Anishinaabe. Typically we do not film our ceremonies but I have recorded just the opening of my ceremony to connect to the sounds and sights when I smudge.

Close your eyes and listen then comment what you saw in your mind when listening to the song.
