Have you ever used music in your classroom? Research shows that it increases concentration, prevents the need for students to chat and become disruptive and calms students. Used best when learners are being asked to complete an activity independently. The clip below takes you to eight hours of relaxing music featuring sounds within nature. There are lots of videos like this one or alternatively, you can invite learners to bring in their own music (but check it first!) or just bring in a CD that you think would be suitable. For further advice, have a chat with Hayley Ryan who has used music a lot in teaching and learning.
