it is illegal to keep, distribute or sell pornographic materials and films under the law. It is illegal to download or share pornographic materials. Under the proposal by the Penal Code Review Committee, fictional child abuse material will be included as it can be used for grooming children and reinforcing abusers’ inappropriate feelings. It will also be an offence to engage in sexual communication with minors (even if they do not respond) or cause them to look at sexual images.
