Before the Japanese occupation people were equally rich and having a stable life but after the Japanese occupation the government wasn't far to every one as he did not provide enough food and did not care about the people and only try to win public support change as a result source 1 tells me that many family were so poor that they had to chip in money every day after school or go pluck some jambu to sell them at Changi market
Source 2 tells me that during the Japanese occupation Teenagers were very famished as they had so little food to survive with because the Japanese government was selfish and only provide it to the local Japanese Source 2 also supports that after the Japanese occupation people were not having a stable life and the government wasn't equal to everyone.
Source 4 tells me that the Japanese was not fair as he lower the ration of rice and everyday items to give as every time he lower by a few grams Source 4 also supports that the Japanese government did not bother to care what happens to the locals as he lower down the grams everyday.
Source 5 tells me that the Japanese was very mean as when you see a Japanese soldier you have to bow to them and if you do not they will slapped you or worse kill you even source 5 supports the point that the Japanese do not care what happens to the local as even if their own people kill a local of Singapore they will not bother to care and nor discipline them
