         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Module 4 Learning Engagement: Try it out</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Title of project:</strong> Exploring Sustainable Solutions for Plastic/Water Pollution</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Description:</strong> </p><ul><li><p>Students will investigate the issue of plastic pollution and propose sustainable solutions to addressing, and investigate the issue. </p></li><li><p>Students will work in small groups to design and conduct their own inquiry projects related to a global issue of their choice. </p></li><li><p>Throughout the project, students will engage in research, analysis, and reflection to deepen their understanding of the chosen issue and its impact on both local and global contexts. They will collaborate effectively within their groups to addressing the issue. </p></li><li><p>At the end of the project, students will present their findings and recommendations to their peers.</p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>How the Learning Engagement Aligns:</strong></p><ol><li><p><strong>Based on Inquiry:</strong> This learning engagement is grounded in student-led inquiry, where students have the autonomy to explore topics of interest and develop their own guiding questions to investigate. Through research and analysis, they engage in critical inquiry to deepen their understanding of complex global issues.</p></li><li><p><strong>Focused on Conceptual Understanding:</strong> Through their research and analysis, they develop a deeper conceptual understanding of these issues and their interconnectedness.</p></li><li><p><strong>Developed in Local and Global Contexts:</strong> The inquiry projects allow students to explore global issues, they are also encouraged to consider the local implications and relevance of their chosen topics. </p></li><li><p><strong>Focused on Effective Teamwork and Collaboration:</strong> The project emphasizes effective teamwork and collaboration, as students work together in small groups to conduct research, analyze data, and develop solutions. By collaborating with their peers, students learn to value diverse perspectives, communicate effectively to achieve common goals.</p></li><li><p><strong>Designed to Remove Barriers to Learning:</strong> The project is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their background or abilities. Flexible groupings allow students to work with peers who can provide support as needed. Additionally, is to help students navigate the research process and develop their inquiry skills.</p></li><li><p><strong>Informed by Assessment:</strong> Assessment is ongoing throughout the project, with opportunities for formative feedback and reflection at various stages. The criteria are provided to guide students in self-assessment and peer assessment, allowing them to monitor their progress and make adjustments as needed.
