They demonstrated how they connected to the learning needs of their students and often cared for them beyond the needs of the subject guidelines and frameworks.

The type of teacher I'd like to become is teacher that is able to facilitate the learning needs of my students. While it would be great to comprehensively know and teach the subject material, I hope that I would be able to connect with each student with life applications that would be a trajectory to them making a positive difference to sphere of influence that each of them would be in.

Id like to be an inclusive and informative teacher, that imbeds respect and equity within their classroom, hoping these important values are passed on to her students. Also to be approachable, and patient, for students to feel safe and can feel like they are valued, encouraging them engage in the classroom and want to come to school.

I teach because... I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher since I was in grade prep. My primary school teachers were always inspiring and supportive individuals and I  always looked up to them.


The type of teacher I'd like to become...
I want to create a safe and supportive environment for children to come to every day and learn and grow whilst enjoying themselves and having positive interactions with others. I especially want to create a safe space for students whose home life may not be the best place, and those who do not receive enough support from their parents - as I recall watching some of my peers deal with difficult social factors outside of school, knowing that school was the highlight of their day as it offered some normality and structure.
