The Internet is widely used to store and access information. Email accounts have such great storage capacities that they can store much more than just written communication. We also have tools like Google Drive, which let us store gigabytes of information online. Though, the internet is greatly beneficial today, it is negatively reflecting today on children aged below 8. Children in the 21st century are addicted to the internet. Nowadays, children spend more time in the internet than playing outdoors. Reason being, they use the internet to play computer games, watch their favourite shows or even listen to rhymes on YouTube. Hence, children whose time is solely spent on the internet should be kept under parent supervision. Reason being, there are age inappropriate matters on the internet in which children are unaware of.

Internet has abundance of information for you to know and learn. With internet you can survive anywhere, for example if you have lost your way with internet you can never get lost as it will show you the directions back. It really depends on how we use the internet. However, internet has the other side where it can cause harm to people. For example cyberbullying. At times the informations that are found in internet is not reliable. Hence, we should be able to know which information is reliable nd not reliable.

Now with advancement of technology it is very hard to not expose a 8 year old child to internet. Even in primary schools they have computer classes to teach them to on how to find informations in internet. If the 8 year old child uses the internet in the rightful way they tend to learn more and broaden their knowledge beyond their classroom lessons. It really depends on how the 8 year old child is going to use the internet and parents should monitor the child closely when they are using internet. Furthermore, rapid flashing images of certain websites and games can trigger epileptic seizures. Children may not be able to separate fact from fiction. They are vulnerable to cyber-bullying. Internet limits challenges to their creativity and imaginations. They may also have short attention span and poor focus.

Children can learn more information on the internet and can be equipped with skills. Studies have also shown that children with computers perform better academically

However, when internet is used wisely so much online learning can be done especially for people who are time constraint. It will also be much more convenient as a lecturer being physically present will be of lesser necessity. 

In the current century, children below the age of 8 are widely exposed to the use of internet. They are spending an average of 25 minutes playing video games, 60% of children watch cartoons and only about 16% of children learn online. This is evident that they are spending longer then recommend time using technologies which has led to an increase of children being affected by myopia. They also get frustrated when not allowed to use the internet and show tantrum this is due to the addiction with the usage of technology. 

Hence, I personally feel that children should be more encouraged to make friends and play in the playground instead of sitting at the playground and using the internet defeating the purpose of healthy living.
