We continue to experience discipline but in a different way. Before, it was focusing on physical punishment but now teachers have resorted to self-reflections/mental realizations of their mistakes.

Now, attendance is being strictly monitored and is mandatory. Students lose marks when they skip class.

Historically, farmers were in control of the educational system which is why students attend class during the summer and spend most of the time working in the farm. Now, it is the opposite as the society influenced how schools operate/run which has changed the academic year.

Although we no longer physically discipline students, the concept of disciplining students and maintaining a classroom in order is still seen today; we just do it in different ways.

We are still seeing the changes in how teachers are dealing with students behaviours and managing classroom. There was a shift from physical abuse to guidance and now we are seeing more workshops and certification courses to assist teachers

Teachers still continue to follow a curriculum that is built from a colonists perspective, a curriculum that is not inclusive of all children. Therefore, as teachers, we always fight this embedded colonial system to make it inclusive for all students.
