Common Core Standards: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6-8.8 Distinguish among facts, reasoned judgment based on research findings,

and speculation in a text.
    Keeping students on the provided website and Encyclopedia Britannica will ensure the students are given accurate information for research purposes. Students instincts will be to turn to Encyclopedia Britannica or teacher provided information first, then when they look to further research, they will be able to understand how information is presented.

TIME BOUND:
     By the end of January, students will have a 
     final research project.
     Two weeks after the first class, students  
      will  have a rough draft of their research 
      project.
     

SPECIFIC:
The teacher would like to use technology in the classroom so students understand how to research safely on the internet and to have the students create a project that can communicate ideas.

MEASURABLE:
By checking the citations used, the teacher will be able to see what resources students used to collect data for their research project.
By checking the content of the research project, the teacher can see if the students were able to communicate the information into a different format.

ATTAINABLE:
Show evidence of 2 areas of the ISTE educator standards.

RELEVANT:
The school is implementing ISTE standards for teachers and students.  All teachers should show evidence of the implementation.
