April 25 11:10pm - Reactors Power drops unexpectedly

Operators mistakenly reduce the power of the reactor to an unsafe level this made the reactor unstable. This mistake will have caused many issues that caused the disaster.

April 26 1:23am - Reactor explodes

A power surge cause 2 explosions which blow of the 1,000 ton steel and concrete lid of causing radioactive material to spill out. This radioactive energy would go all around Ukraine and many other European countries.

April 26 1:30am - Firefighters come to put out disaster

Firefighters come and manage to out out the whole fire by the morning. They didn't have much protection from the radioactivity so, many of them died due to illnesses caused by radiation.

April 26 2:00 - Radiation begins to spread

The radiation from the explosion began to spread by now going to surrounding areas, including Pripyat. All though of the fact this is a big danger no residents are informed of it leaving them in high risk of illnesses such as cancer.

April 28th- Radiation starts spreading to other countries

May 5th- May day parade

The May Day parade in Kyiv went ahead as scheduled on May 1, 1986, just days after the Chernobyl disaster. Despite the radiation risks, soviet officials did not cancel the event, and thousands of people participated unaware of the danger. This decision has been criticized for exposing citizens to harmful radiation level
