I am having fun comparing the AMC Walking Dead with the graphic novels. It's interesting to see what desperation and isolation look like to a TV viewer and to a reader. I also can't wait to finish the adventure of Odd Thomas this summer after reading Deeply Odd (last book is Saint Odd). I have had many years of fun with the fry cook from Pico Mundo. Odd's sense of humor is on point, as is Dean Koontz's sense of terror.

Last week I finished the book "Pax" about a boy and his fox.  This book will forever change how you see animals as so much of the story is written from Pax's point of view.  The best part about this book is that we see glimpses of ourselves in the characters and can relate to their feelings and struggles.  This book is a must read.

I loved The Blood Guard, Mrs. Bemke!  It reminds me a little of the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan.  My favorite character was Dawson.  He made me laugh!  ---Ms. Midyett

 The first book is The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall by Katie Alender.  This is a suspenseful ghost story and a real page-turner!  The Horror genre has long been a favorite at NMS.  I recommend this one if you like spooky things with a mystery to solve.
