It enhances knowledge and skills. It keeps me up to date .

I also learnt from (Becoming a better teacher) that CPD needs patience. It is ongoing process. We always learn new things from our colleagues while observing them. We learn new things or new ideas by doing research. I should always keep learning. This is an ability to change.Changing the ways what I do ,What I think and changing the ways of practice. It can be only happened due to CPD.

While doing this topic I watched a video on Kolb's cycle . Do...Think ...Conclude and adapt This is the kolb's famous cycle on reflection. After doing ,thinking ,concluding and adapting process ,teacher can do it again, think it again, conclude it again and adapt it again what he conducted before in the class. It is an experimental way of reflecting and teaching.I love this way of reflection. We can easily identify where we are in kolb's cycle while we do the lessons. It is very useful for teachers who like teaching and learning. If one can want to reflect on the lessons that he/she teaches in the class according to the Kolb's cycle ,he must know the following questions:
  1. What did I do ? (Concrete experience) 2.How did it go ? (reflective observation)
3.How can I do it differently ? (Abstract conceptualisation)
4.What new plan should I implement ?(Active experimentation)
Very useful and productive way of reflecting practice....

Generally senior teachers or headmasters observe newly appointed teachers or regular teachers in order to monitor their performance. After being observed the observer gives feedback. He discusses on positive things and also shows observee's drawbacks. Actually to improve teaching of teachers senior teachers or our colleagues or friends observe us.
Peer observation is a very powerful way of CPD.

When i completed a diploma in education ,I thought I knew everything. No need to be trained again. But Knowledge is power and to recharge it I need to educate myself again and again. When I read something ,I feel young. When I join any course or attend any training program ,I feel younger. When I completed ELIPS(English Language Initiative for Primary School) I thought ,there is much to learn.
Thanks to British Council for availing innovative opportunities in Maharashtra through ELIPS,ELISS and TEJAS programme .
Learning is ongoing ,continuing process of development. No one is omniscient in the world. We need food ,water, air to survive. but Knowledge, skills and attitude are also more important to survive in this modern world.

The definition above describes a process where you, the teacher, take charge of professional learning. Throughout this course, we have explored various aspects of this and heard from other teachers about their experiences. In order to plan ahead, spend some time thinking about where you are now and where you would like to be. Use the following questions to help:

What are my strengths (things I do well)?

What are my areas of development (things I could do better)?

What are my aspirations (things I want to do)?

What are my interests (things I really enjoy)?

What do I need to do to achieve my aspirations?

Planning professional learning requires going through various stages. Look at the table below. Use it to guide your own professional learning plan.

Pathway to learningQuestion to askAction to take1. Identification | What are my strengths and areas of development | Get feedback from learners and colleagues, do a self-assessment
2. Defining goals | What do I need to do to improve? When do I need to do this by? | Set goals and timelines
3. Finding and accessing learning resources | Where can I find the help I need? | Join a community of practice, create a study group, expand my professional learning network
4. Applying and assessing | What did I try? How did it go? | Try out an activity or approach in your classroom Reflect on it using reflective tools
5. Recording your learning | How can I ensure I don’t forget my learning? | Keep a reflective log / professional portfolio
6.
