Wikis are a great collaboration tool. Essentially a blog in part as you can post recent topics and have many links to articles, videos, quizzes, etc. The main difference however is that wikis can be edited by anyone with access! (your class). This is amazing for things like adding comments or annotations of constructive criticism or highlighting important parts of an article. This however could be a problem if there is content being added that isn't valuable to the lesson or topic. This is somewhat common on wikipedia with false or 'joke' content. The main thing with wikis is to be a critical thinker and use it as a tool, not fact.

What subject areas do you think this tool is suitable for?

Any subject requiring a visual aid to accompany a presentation.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of this tool?

It is similar to powerpoint but very simplistic and free of clutter. So, a strength would be that it focuses on content over presentation. A weakness is that students cannot play around with things like transition from slide to slide.

I would say this is a good tool for creating, and less so for assessment. It could be used for collaboration if students are doing a presentation together.

Storyboard can be great for Language Arts classes however, could be used in any class such as science or math. It allows students or teachers to create their own book or they can read others published books. It gives students a voice for their own story. It helps to improve students writing and learning skills. It also provides courses for effective writing. This tool could be used in many ways within the classroom even for assessment of any given topic through the creation of a story book. This tool allows children to be their own publishers and creators.
