What I liked about Camp Flintlock is the dress up, the candle making, and the quill writing stations. The dress up was one of my favorites because it was fun watching my friends dress up and the dresses and the umbrellas where really pretty. The candle making was cool because I liked watching my candle grow each time I put it in this kind of brown water. My most favorite station though was the quill writing station. It was cool feeling like I was in a Harry Potter world. Thank you for visiting us at North Chatham to give us a fun learning experience about life in the colonial times. Your different activities helped us all to better understand the history of our country. I learned so much from the field trip, for example how the way we make candles has changed over the centuries, that there are two different types of ink that were used during the first years of this country, how the people had invented many games (which are surprisingly fun), how the native Americans would make necklaces out of things like buffalo bone and horns and glass that they traded and I also learned the history of Yankee Doodle. Thank You for the amazing field trip! I had a great time dressing up, making candles, making necklaces, writing with a quill and ink, and playing Colonial games! I learned that you could trade in a bear skin for only ONE beaver skin because a beavers skin is really thick. I am hoping that I can come to summer camp with some of my friends! It will be amazing to spend some more time doing what we did. I thought your drum and flute playing were amazing too!
