Lia Thomas became the first transgender woman to win a D-1 National championship after transgender inclusion of trans athletes had been around for over a decade. Although the LGBT community has made many strides in fighting for equality. Lia's Win of the Championship sparked controversy on whether her sex was at an advantage. It is apparent that there is still so much more social change when it comes to transgender equality. According to the textbook social change is conteroversial for example. People disagree about how we ought to live we see this in social interactions between heterosexuals for example and the Lgbt community (Ch 16 14th ed pg 489).

In February 2022 Russia under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, invaded Ukraine. This sparked protests around the World against the War on Ukraine. Nations like Switzerland who prides themselves on being neutral, marched the streets in solidarity, carrying Ukrainian flags. Switzerland became a large crowd of people that demanded change by marching in support of Ukraine, the textbook recognizes this action as collective behavior (Ch 16 14th ed pg 490).

Amazon Prime had catered to our impersonal relationships we have created post industrially. Post pandemic shopping online has alienated us from each other and created an anti social attitude across the World. We can still enjoy coffee but instead of sitting and enjoying it surrounded by people you love this meme shows how much we can replace them with companies like Amazon Prime. Catering to our own personal wants and needs rather then with family. These type of companies have brought convenience right to your front door, eliminating shopping and time with family and cutting people off entirely, this is known as an example of how mass society has been weakened from traditional social ties (Ch 16 14ed pg 501).

Housing costs have made it impossible for the working families to afford purchasing a new home. Large investment companies are purchasing more and more properties making it difficult for working class families to seek generational wealth. This fact has kept the rich only richer and everyone else in the bottom percent. This is known as Capitalism which only increases economic inequality (Ch 16 14th ed p g 503).

There's a whole World outside of my small town

I am from a small agricultural town and this exact quote is the motto all of my friends have felt at one point. This reminds me of my friend Aldo, who moved to New York and now designs for one of the biggest make up lines. He did not allow the small town to hold him back, although he struggled he is now living his best in the Big Apple. He was openly gay and struggled with the people in our small town who were very religious bully him and tell him he was wrong for living the way he did. The textbook recognizes this as Modernity and the individual, many times these small towns are stronger in religion which often believe they are teaching the "correct" ways to think and "behave" (Ch 16 14th ed pg 504).

This particular movie is amazing because it's one of the only ones when it was released had people and toons in it. This was modern at the time. This seemed to be a sense of all rules are out the door for how movies were made previously. This marked a change and the feel of "old meeting the new" (Ch 16 14th ed pg 508).
