Mrs. Mottern is reading Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson

30. A New Year’s Resolution that Jade would make is to focus on her artwork and create more pieces to sell in Maxine’s sister’s gallery. I think she would resolve to create pieces of art with powerful political messages.
14. If Jade could take a vacation anywhere in the world, she would go to Spain so that she could speak and practice her Spanish. She would likely bring her best friend, Sam, because she also speaks Spanish and wants to do the study abroad program.

13. If I had a chance to interview anybody in the book, it would be Ms. Weber who accused Jade of being defiant. I would want to ask her (well, more like interrogate her…) why she targeted Jade for the incident in the cafeteria and not Hannah (who was actually guilty). I would want to know what was going on with her that day to cause her to lose her temper and wrongfully accuse Jade of being defiant without listening to her.
11. The part of the text that reminded me of a current event is the police beating of Natasha Ramsey. In the text, this 15 year old girl was beaten by the police after getting a noise complaint at a party she was attending. The people at the party filmed the beating with their cell phones and published it on social media. This storyline reminded me of George Floyd who died at the hands of a police officer and the incident was caught on video taken by bystanders.
10. If I could punch anyone in the face, it would be the boys in the Dairy Queen that made fun of Jade for her curves. I think body shaming is deplorable and these guys were the worst.
9. I predict that in the next 50 pages Jade will get an internship at Maxine's sister's art gallery.
8. Jade has been hiding her jealousy over Sam’s acceptance in the study abroad program. When she learned Sam had been accepted over her, she tried to be happy for her, but inside she felt she deserved the opportunity to go more.
7. If I could cast anybody to play the role of Jade it would be Marley Dias, the 16 year old activist who launched the #1000GirlBlackBooks drive which collected books with black female protagonists to donate to Jamaican girls in need. Her strong activism, dedication to sharing black female voices, and shared values is what would make her perfectly cast as Jade.
6. If I could have dinner with anyone it would be Jade’s mother. She is strong, fierce, and seems to be a straight-shooter who speaks her mind easily. She works multiple jobs as a single mom to provide for her family and, more than anything, I would like to treat her to a nice meal out with someone to spoil her for a change. I think she would love Zydeco with some of their Cajun dishes!
5. One character who is similar to me is Maxine because who she seems like on the outside is not exactly who she is on the inside. She presents as strong and confident, but still has her own challenges in life she is working through.
4. Jade, the protagonist, struggles with overcoming poverty, racial stereotypes, and prejudice. She struggles internally with accepting help from others because she does not want to be seen as weak or vulnerable.
3. Watson starts with the line (and these are the only lines in the first chapter), “I am learning to speak. To give myself a way out. A way in.” The simplicity of just those words, alone on the page, has a big impact and it certainly makes me wonder what kind of situation she wants a way out of.

2. Based on the title and the collaged cover art, I think this book will be about the main character trying to figure out her identity. The collage might show that there are many different factors that will play a role in her identity.
1. I chose this book because I loved Renee Watson's poem we read in class titled, "This Body." Her voice was powerful and I love reading stories with strong female protagonists.

13. If I had a chance to interview anyone in the book I would interview the author of the Murder Mystery article she did in the newspaper.
11. If my book was a show right now, it reminds me of Hawaii five-0, because that show is a mystery show trying to solve murders and that is what is happening in my book right now and she is just now starting to collect a lot of clues for the murders.
10. If I could punch anyone in the face, I would punch the step dad because he has been lying to his family about how much he really knows about her sisters death.
9. In the next 50 pages I predict that the secret identity who has been texting her will meet up with her to tell her info on how he has the phone and what her step dad did.
8. The protagonist in my story, her step dad is hiding her dead’s sisters phone. She dies 5 years ago, somehow, her sister phone wounded up in her step fathers drawers in his office, and hasn’t told anyone he had it, until she found it in his office.
7. If I could cast anyone to play the protagonist, it would be Leighton Meester, the main character, Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl because she likes to know everyone’s secrets and that’s what the protagonist in, The Cheerleaders is trying to do.
6. I would have dinner with the protagonist because we have a lot in common, I would probably take her to a pizza place because she likes foods like those.
5. One person that is the same as me is the protagonist because she likes to investigate and figure things out like me. 4. My protagonist struggles with trying to see if she wants to investigate who her sisters murderer is or to leave it alone.
3. The hook for my book was “This house was made for someone without a soul”. This hooked me in and got me to think of who lives in the house, what’s in the house? Etc.
2. Based on the title “The Cheerleaders”, and the blood splatters on the cover, I think this book we be about Cheerleaders who were murdered. There are most likely going to be cliffhangers and you are gonna have to find out who the murderer is. Based off what I’ve read so far I think one of there close friends or family member will be the murderer.
1. I chose this book because I really enjoy murder mysteries , while reading the book I really enjoy trying to find out who the murderer is, before the book tells me.

6. One of the characters I would like to sit down and have dinner with, would be Sammie. I’d ask her what it is like to have NPC, and I would become friends with her. I would take her to a fancy restaurant that way we wouldn’t be so rushed and we could have a long conversation and not get interrupted. I’d like to learn more about NPC and see what it’s like for someone who has it.
5. One character that is similar to me, would be Sammie’s little brother, Harry, because he’s very kind and loving and he enjoyed playing Minecraft and he enjoys math, like I do.
4. The main problem with the main character, Sammie, is that she suffers from NPC, Niemann-Pick Type C, which is a genetic disease that can cause memory loss, dementia, seizures, other life threatening symptoms, and sometimes, death.
3. What got me hooked on this book, were the words “They say I’ll Forget. I’m Writing To Remember.” On the cover, and then on the first page, “If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering who you are. I’ll give you three clues.” It makes me intrigued, it makes me curious. It makes me want to keep reading. What the author did, was write something fascinating. “Writing To Remember.” So it’s got to be about memory or something related, and I find those types of books and movies interesting and fascinating.
2. Based on the title, a prediction I can make, is that a girl is writing a book to help her future self remember things that happen/happened in her life. I predict this because it is called “The Memory Book” and on the top it says “They say I’ll forget. I’m writing to remember.”
1. I chose this book, not because of the title or the cover picture, because the “cover is not the book” (Mary Poppins Returns), but because I find books about rare diseases interesting and they get me hooked because of how realistic they can be, and if it has a relationship in it, they are more interesting for me and I find them more enjoyable. It also relates to the movie “50 First Dates” with Adam Sandler, and at the end of the movie, he recorded a film that the girl watches every morning when she wakes up because of her memory loss.

30. A New Years resolution pop Merrill would have would be to scam more people and make more money than the last year because he is very greedy and his main way of making money is scamming desperate people.
14. The main character of my book would go on a vacation to mt. Everest or another famous mountain to take stunning pictures of the landscape with his new camera he got for his birthday. He would take his entire family with him because they would probably organize the trip to take him to Mt. Everest so he can take pictures.
13. Someone I would chose to interview would be one of the paranormal investigators because they seem like very interesting people and fun to interview. The question I would ask is why did you chose this job?
11. When pop Merrill is searching for these paranormal investigators to sell this haunted camera to it reminds me of the show called ghost hunters because it gives you a look at 5he real lives behind the paranormal investigators.
10. Someone I would want to punch in the face would be pop Merrill. I chose this man because he owns a business that loans money to people who are very desperate and makes them payback massive amounts of money, he also takes advantage of people who are desperate and not as smart as him. He also lied to a kid and stole his property to make money off of it.
9. Something I think will happen in the next page is, something bad will happen to Kevin because Pop Merril scammed him and kept the camera so he isn’t being careful with it and destroying it like promised.
8. Someone I think is lying or hiding something is pop Merrill because he all of a sudden wanted to keep the camera and lied to Kevin about it and I think he knows something about it that mostly everyone in the story doesn’t.
7. I would cast Chris Pratt as Kevin’s dad because I feel like they would look pretty similar. Some character traits they both share is that they have a very similar sense of humor, they both have probably lost a lot of money on a bet, and they both seem like really nice guys.
6. I would chose not to have dinner with anybody in the book because, I don’t see myself becoming friends with any of the characters, and having dinner with them sounds boring. But if I had to I would chose Kevin and I would take him to El Sancho.
5. One character that is opposite from me is Kevin Delevan. Because he finds something strange with his camera and goes to check it out or see what is wrong it’s it, and he keeps persisting to find and answer. I would see if it could be fixed and since the camera could not be fixed I would probably stop investigating and throw it away.
4. He struggles with, trying to figure out where the pictures are coming from, who in the world is taking them, and how his Polaroid is producing these pictures when he himself is not taking them.
3. The hook of the book was starting off in the midst of everything. The author also leaves things unanswered throughout the book to keep us from dropping the book until we know what is happening and we know why.
2. A prediction I can make is that a dog in a photograph will eventually make it’s way into the real world and cause havoc. The title is pretty literal because it is based off of a Polaroid sun 660 that only produces a picture of a dog in front of a white picket fence.
1. I chose this book because I really like horror books that are meant to creep you out or just straight up scare you, and I have been wanting to read a good Stephen king book for a very long time.

9. In the next book I think that Zach will start to question the program and will begin to go rouge resulting in him being chased by the program.
8. Someone I think is hiding something is Samara because she keeps avoiding Zach and not wanting to talk and his mission just changed to kill her.
7. If I could cast anyone to play the role of Zach I would pick Tom Holland because he’s the youngest actor I know and Zach is a teen as well as Tom has been in action movies before.
6. I wouldn’t like to have dinner with anyone because everyone in the book has something to hide and they don’t seem to be the best to hang out with. Especially Zach, the main character, who kills people.
5. One character that is similar to me is Sam because they are always questioning things and they look out for others.
4. The protagonist struggles with understanding if he’s doing the right thing and if he is loyal to the right people.
3. It starts off with the main character, Zach, at a baseball game with his rich friend and Zach goes back home with him and kills his father
2. I think that this book is going to be about a young adult that is in a organization that assassinates people and the title is figurative because he isn’t literally a weapon but he is an assassin.
1. I chose this book because I really like political assassins or police shows like NCIS, Enemy of the State and more so I thought this would be fun and have some good mystery.

30. A New Years resolution for the character in my story is probably to not make any more relationships/friendships with the beings they are going to dissect and sell online.
14. Nita would go somewhere in the United States with her father because she wanted to see her father again and spend time with him.
13. It would be Nita’s father and I would ask him why he stayed in the United States.
12. A new book title would be “Betrayal” because Nita’s mother sells Nita on the black market.
11. The one movie of toy story with the pink bear because the bear wants to get rid of Woody and his buddies through the little kids area and in the book the mother is trying to get rid of Nita by selling her on the black market.
10. If I could punch anyone in the face it would be Nita’s mother because she always wants to torture other living things no matter what. Also, just to get money.
9. In the next 50 pages I predict that the little boy’s body will be completely gone because of Nita’s mother who is a torturous person who gives no mercy.
8. Nita and her mother are hiding that they are selling body parts on the internet/the dark web.
7. If I could hire anyone it would probable be lord Valdemort for the antagonist and Han Solo for the protagonist.
6. I would take a character named Nita to Red Robin because she is passionate and has good sympathy.
5. One character is the same as me because I have pretty bad social skills and I have a lot of sympathy for others around me.
4. The character has struggle with social skills and sympathy.
3. The hook was that one of the main characters were dissecting an animal that was dangerous in the South American area. There was pretty much a dead body on the table.
2. I predict that this book is gonna go into betrayal by one of the characters which leads to a chain or events.
1. I chose this book because it looked interesting and I have heard a lot of good things about this author and a few of her books.

30. Judge Creven’s new years resolution would be to find his son, Art, because Art ran away when Creven branded Celestine with 6 brands.
14. If the protagonist, Celestine, could take a vacation anywhere in the world she would want to go home because she’s been living in a cell at the Guild and wants everything to be normal again. Celestine would definitely want her family and her boyfriend there with her.
13. If I had a chance to interview anyone in the book I would interview Celestine and ask what she thinks her life is going to be like if she’s deemed flawed.
11. This book kind of reminds me of The Hunger Games because they both have a system that is unreasonable and shouldn’t exist or be allowed.
10. If I could punch someone in the face I would punch the people who created the Guild because its system and rules are horrible and causes more problems than needed.
9. Something I think will happen in the next 50 pages is that Celestine will leave the Guild as a flawed person.
8. Celestine, Mr. Crevan, and her parents are lying to the public about her helping a flawed person. In this book once you become a flawed person others can’t interact or help them in any way. Celestine was on the bus and this flawed man was coughing and feeling real sick so she gets up to help him. The guild later gets Celestine and is now forced to lie about helping the man so she won’t become flawed herself.
7. If I were to hire someone to play the protagonist, Celestine, I would pick Selena Gomez because their personalities are similar to each other in which they do the right thing even though there might be consequences.
6. If I had to have dinner with one of the characters in the book then I would have it with Bosco Crevan because I would what to ask him about the Guild. I would take him to an Italian restaurant because it’s my favorite food.
5. One character that is the same as me is Celestine because she stands up for what she knows is morally right even thought the messed up system says it’s wrong.
4. The protagonist, Celestine, struggles with knowing if she should stick up for what she thinks is right or stand there and do nothing.
3. The author started right in the drama. This makes me want to keep reading because I want to know what happens next and how the issues is going to be resolved in the end.
2. Based on the title of the book I think it’s going to be about how people are flawed and how they experience life. The title is figurative because the name of the book F stands for flawed.
1. I chose this book because it’s about a girl who puts on a picture perfect life but is actually flawed and not perfect.

30. One of my characters (Jade) would make one of her New Years Resolutions to investigate and figure out if Kayla’s death was murder or not.
14. The protagonist Jade would travel to a city where she can find people that would help her investigate the new town she’s living in. She would bring Donavon and Colby.
13. I would interview Donovan because he was at the house right before Kayla died. I would ask him what it was like data Kayla, and what kind of person she was around him.
11. It reminds me of some type of horror movie because of the secrets the town has, the spirits power, and the things that are happening inside of Jades new house.
10. I would punch Jades step-mom Maria, because of her attitude and tone towards Jade. She also doesn’t believe Jade with the ghost appearances in the new house.
9. In the next 50 pages I think Jade will become closer to Donavon. I also think that Jade will learn more about Kayla’s death now that she is getting closer to more people at school.
8. Jade is keeping a secret about knowing that the house is being haunted. Her little brother knows, her parents wouldn’t believe her, and there’s about to be a party at her house and no one knows that it’s haunted.
7. I would cast my best friend the protagonists because they are both very curious people, and a girl I used to dance with as the antagonist because of how many people they both know.
6. I would have dinner with the protagonists jade, and her little brother Colby because they are the only ones who know about Kayla's ghost.
5. One character that is would be the opposite of me is Kayla because she was very outgoing and had many friends.
4. The protagonists Jane is struggling with a murder mystery and haunting that’s going on in her house right now.
3. The way I got hooked into this book by the author is how when the protagonist first moves into the house, she discovered that there was a murder so early on. Finding out details early into books makes me want to keep reading.
2. I think the protagonist in this book is going to be solving a murder, with making new friends along the way. The title is literal.
1. I chose this book because It’s about a girl who moves into a new town, with a house that’s haunted. It’s a murder story and this interests me.

I would punch Torren in the face because he’s mean to everyone and thinks he’s the best.
9.I think that in the next 50 pages they will finish building there civilization.
8.

30. Bronwyns New Years resolution would be to get perfect grades in school while taking really hard classes
14. I think Nate would go to New York addy would go to Hawaii cooper would go to California and bronwyn would go to Washington DC
13. I would Interview Nate and ask him if he killed Simone.
12. Someone killed Simone, because the book is based on finding out who killed Simone.
11. This book reminds me of Theodore Boone a book I read in elementary school because it is murder mystery.
10. I would punch jakes dad because he chooses to get drunk all day and night instead if taking care of Jake, Jake has to care of him as a high school student and his dad isn’t providing for the family.
9. In the next 50 pages I think more will be revealed about simons death and who was responsible.
8. Addy cheated on her boyfriend and now the boy she cheated on him with and her boyfriend are good friends, she is trying to hide it from her boyfriend.
7. I would cast Leonardo DiCaprio for Nate (Protagonist) because I think he would fit his character. There isn’t an
Antagonist in the story yet.
6. Cooper because he’s good at baseball so that would be a good topic and he seems like a friendly person that would be fun to talk to.
5. The character Im least similar to is cooper because he is very good at baseball
4. The protagonist bronwyn is greasing over her friend Simons death due to an allergic reaction
3. She hooks the reader by starting with drama to get you to want to find out more.
2. Based on the title one of us is dying I’m thinking that someone of the four kids on the cover knows something big about the murder but isn’t telling the truth leading to the story’s problem.
1. I chose this book because I’ve grown up listening to my parents listen to murder mystery books on car rides it always interested me as well so I chose this book.

30. The main character would make a New Years resolution to find why Jun died
15. Tito Maning cause he is the antagonist
14. I think Jay would go to the Phillipines to visit his family
13. I would wanna interview the cousin who died to learn what happened
12. I would call it Young Money Clan
11. I think actual world events are probably what remind me of the book the most since it’s entirely inspired by the ongoing war against drugs in the Philippines
10. Tito Maning cause he is stupid
9. I think within the next 50 pages Jay will learn the truth about Jun’s death or have a bit more info regarding it
8. I think everyone in Jay’s family is hiding something regarding Jun’s situation and how, or why, he died.
7. I would cast Phill Lewis as Jay, the protagonist.
6. Nobody
5. One character that is the opposite of me is the protagonist’s dad cause he continues to try to hide stuff regarding Jun’s death and doesn’t want the protagonist to know.
4. The protagonist struggles with getting past Jun’s death, leading to him doing extensive amounts of research and eventually going to the Phillipines.
3. The “hook” the author has chosen to go with to get the reader’s attention is the sudden death of Jun, the protagonist’s cousin.
2. Soley based on the title, one prediction I can make is perhaps the characters believe what they are doing may not be of much value/ultimately not matter or change anything.
1. I chose this book because although I’m not really interested in the book itself, it looked the most appealing from the 3 options I was given.

30. A New Years revolution one of my characters would make would be to become either the stronger or strongest mage another resolution they would make is to hopefully win the game or wants to put an end to the game.
14. The protagonists would each go somewhere else vika would go to Russia because that’s where she has many memories and that’s where her dad is. Then Nikolai wouldn’t go anywhere he would just stay at home because he knows who vika is and vika doesn’t know who he is.
13. If I had the chance to interview one of the characters in my book I would interview the tsar of Russia and I would ask how much money it takes to run a whole country? Or I would ask what percentage of money use the highest. Because I can bet you it’s a lot of money to run a country especially as big as Russia
11. This book reminds me of the “Wizards Of Waverly Place” movie because in the movie they have a wizard battle between two of the family members that have magic the stakes aren’t as high as dying but the winner gets the losers magic power and the losers losses their magic power if I’m remembering correctly which relates to the book I’m reading because whoever wins keeps there magic and has access to all the magic of Russia and the loser loses their magic/dies that’s why this book reminds me of that movie.
10. If I could punch one of the characters in the face I wouldn’t punch anyone there really isn’t a reason to punch any of the characters none of them have done anything bad so there really isn’t any reason to punch one of the characters and there all just kind of normal in characteristics I guess.
9. I predict that in the next 50 pages one of the two main characters are going to die in the crown’s game because it’s leading up to it and each one is practicing magic that is useful for killing the other. They are also traveling to where they will take an oath before the game starts.
8. Nikolai and Vika are both hiding the secret that they are enchanters and that they can use magic both from the world and from each other and when the king finds out there are two people that can use magic he initiates the crowns game wich basically is whoever loses dies and the winner becomes the royal enchanter.
7. I’m not sure who I would cast as an antagonist or a protagonist because in my book there really isn’t one or the other it’s more like the roles are mostly neutral but if I had to pick people one would be Ryan Reynolds for Nikolai because they both have kind of serious way of thinking with a funny side too and I would have Adam Sandler play the prince because the prince is kind of mischievous and doesn’t like to be kept in the castle and always finds a way out of his royal duty’s.
6. If I could go to dinner with anyone in my book it would be pasha the prince because it would just be cool having dinner with a prince as well as talk and potentially become friends with the prince and I would take him to ihop because in the book it seems he would enjoy a place like that.
5.the character the is the same as me is Nikolai because he is up late a lot working and has to get up early for magic lessons which is similar to me because I stay up late working on homework or things around the house then I have to get up early and get ready for school.
4. My protagonists struggle with magic and living a life of secrecy to make sure no one finds out they can use magic and eventually they will have to fight one another to the death and the winner becomes the imperial enchanter.
3.the hook for my was background info about the crowns game and the biggest part that got me was when it switched from one characters p.o.v to a different characters p.o.v the transition between the two characters was really smooth and it was easy to understand the different situation the two characters were in.
2. My prediction of my book by the title is that the story is going to be fictional and have a similarity to the Hunger Games series because what I’ve read so far is there is a competition between mages to decide who would become the main power of the country and have absolute power.
1. I chose this book out of the three choices I was given because I read the first page in all the books and this one seemed the most interesting and because it was the most appealing to my tastes.

30. A New Years resolution that the protagonist would make is to try to be more calm. The main character doesn’t have very good emotional control.
14. The protagonist would probably go to Hawaii because it’s relaxing and they aren’t old enough to really appreciate the museums and history of other places.
13. I would interview the little brother, Devin, because I think he has some disability because of an accident that happened in the past. I still don’t know what this accident it so I would interview him to figure that out.
11. This book reminds me a little bit of a game called Destiny. You have to have your team doing certain stuff to reach an end point.
10. I would definitely punch the main character in the face because I don’t like him and he is really annoying.
9. The main character will probably bury this bird that he is suppose to save in the next 50 pages.
8. The book itself is holding back a secret on how Devin was paralyzed. They bring it up several times but never actually tell the story on how.
7. If I could change who the characters were I would make the family of the main character and switch it with my own family so that it felt more real and important.
6. I wouldn’t have dinner with any characters because they all seem pretty weird and it just wouldn’t be enjoyable at all
5. One character that is opposite from me is Devin because he is paralyzed and I’m not.
4. My protagonist struggles with some family and economic problems along with a sort of trauma.
3. The opening hook says, “everythings a battle,” then proceeds to give a rough overview of what the setting looks like. Personally, I don’t think the hook was good but I kept reading anyway.
2. The title makes me potentially think that he will reach past the boneyard
1. I chose this book because it looks fairly interesting and I like the artwork on the cover of the book. The librarian also suggested this book to me based off of some of my interests

30. One New Years resolution would be for Sophie the main character. It would probably to get over her ex because at the spot I’m at in the book she’s contemplating getting back with her ex even though he wanted to break up with her in the first place. He told her that he regrets doing that and that’s making her 2nd quests her self. 14. If Sophie could go on a trip anywhere in the world, she would probably go to Paris because she seems like the type of person who would love to go to Paris. She would probably take her best friend Olivia because they know each other very well and they’ve known each other for a very long time and they’re really close.
13. If I could interview one person from my book I would interview the main characters ex boyfriend because I would like to know why he wanted to break up with Sophie so bad. I would ask him, “Did you even want to be with her?” Or “Why didn’t you just go up to her and tell her that you didn’t want to date anymore.”
11. My book reminds me of the tv show Friends because in Fiends there’s a group of people who are really close to each other. In my book there’s also a friend group who’s really close with each other and they do everything together.
10. If I could punch one character in the face I would punch the main characters ex boyfriend Griffin because when Sophie went to a party to see griffin, she over herd griffin talking about wanting to break up. Further into the book, Griffin can see all the posts about Sophie going on the blind dates and he’s getting jealous. He texts Sophie a lot telling her that he wants her back and that he wished that he never did that to her. Sophie just ignores the calls and text messages.
9. I predict that the main character, Sophie, will fall in love with one of the guys that she goes on a date with and she won’t want to go on the rest of the dates. I also predict that she will start dating him and her family will still make her go on the dates because they had a deal to complete all 10 dates of her family’s choosing.
8. One character that is hiding something is Griffin, he is the main characters ex boyfriend. He is still in love with Sophie but since her family is making her go on these 10 blind dates to try to get her mind off of things, Griffin feels that he won’t ever get back with Sophie. He is hiding his love for her even thought he was the one that said he didn’t want to be together anymore.
7. If I could cast a protagonist and a antagonist I would probably choose the main character, Sophie, as the protagonist and her best friend, Addie, as the antagonist. I would choose them because they work really good together and it would be a good fit. Both of them are really outgoing and funny.
6. If I could go to dinner with any character from the book I would probably go with the main character Sophie. I chose her because our personalities are really similar and I think we would be best friends if we ever meet. I would take her to any type of Mexican restaurant because she seems to be the type of person to love Mexican food, just like me.
5. One character who is the complete opposite as me is probably the main character,Sophie, because she has a lot of family, and when something happens the whole family knows in an instant. Some of my family, as in grandparents, are kinda close but we’re not at close as Sophie and her family.
4. The protagonist in my book ,Sophie, she goes through a break up. She had been with her boyfriend for a year. Her Nonna figures it out and tell the whole family. Her Nonna also had the idea to make Sophie go on 10 blind dates with boys that her family chooses. She has no say on who the boys are.
3. The “hook to my book started off as a question. “Are you sure you won’t come with us?” It really left me wondering what was going to happen next. I want to find out what was going to happen next, that makes we want to keep reading.
2. Based on the title of the book I think there’s going to be one main character who randomly gets chosen to go on 10 blind dates. She’s also going to have a best friend that’s with her the whole time.
1. I chose this book because the title 10 blind dates has a catchy sound to it and it sounds like it’s going to be a romantic book. I’m really into books that are romantic.

The protagonists struggles to find his dad that disappeared with no trace
3. The author started the book with a family on a cruise on the to the camp and in between conversations the author would explain different peace’s of this camp
2. I predict this book will be full of action
1. I chose this book because when I opened it and saw the quote that reads “ This is dedicated to our kids.

14. Adam would probably go to New York because he seems like a city guy and he’d bring his best friend Gansey.
13. I would interview Blue and ask her what it’s like being able to see ghosts and have a mom and aunt who take to spirits
11. It kind of reminds me of a ghost hunting show because in the beginning of the book, the main character is looking for something paranormal and they try to figure out what is the rest of the book.
10. If I could punch anyone in the face I would choose Welch because he is really rude to the main characters and is a horrible person and ends up doing something horrible.
9. I think that Blue will realize that the boy from the restaurant is the same boy that she saw dead in the beginning of the book
8. A secret the main character in my book is keeping is not telling her mom that she is hanging out with the people she wasn’t suppose to.
7. If I could cast anyone as the roll of a character in my book I would cast Froy Gutierrez as Adam
6. If I could have dinner with any character it would be Adam and I would take him to a fancy restaurant because he is treated badly and doesn’t have a lot of money.
5. One character that is the same as me is Gansy because he is an insomniac.
4. The protagonist of the book struggles with not knowing who her true love is and possibly killing the him on accident
3. The author made the hook of the book interesting by starting with a plot twist about the main character so you’ll want to know more
2. I think this book is about a group of people who have to solve a big mystery that involves one of them
1. I choose this book because my friend recommended it to me and she thought I would really like it because it’s a mystery book which I really like and it has characters that I really like and relate too.

30. A New Years resolution that my character would have would be starting fresh with her sister and figuring stuff about her parents.

14. She would go visit where ever her parents take the spirits and she would take her sister because her sister does not believe in any of the stuff her parents did.
13. I would interview the main characters parents because they seem to be the ones who have secrets, and I want to know why they died and how they help the spirits and ghosts.
12. I would rename my book something along the lines of finding out her parents secrets and the truth about what they did when they were alive.
11. My book reminds me of a YouTube channel called Sam and Colby because they do all kinds of paranormal type of investigations and this book reminds me of that because her
parents help spirits cross to the “other side”.
10. If I could punch one of the characters in the face it would be Sylvie’s sister Rose because she always seems judgmental towards Sylvie and she deserves a small punch.
9. A prediction that I think will happen within the next 50 pages is Sylvie with start to find out about her parents and what they did and the reason for why they died.
8. Sylvie’s parents definitely have a secret about either how they died or what they would do, the book is about her parents helping spirits cross over and I feel like there’s more to that.
7. If I had to cast someone I would cast Myself. I feel like in some degrees I can relate to what a teenager feels like. And how life can feel.
6. I would want to have dinner with Sylvie because we seem to have a lot in common and I would enjoy listening to her life story. I would want to go somewhere quiet like a coffee shop or a picnic.
5. One character that is similar to me is Sylvie because she acts like a teenager and I feel like I act the same way. Her life also throws twists and turns and sometimes I feel the same.
4. The protagonist struggles with her mental health I assume, she often gets teased about her parents death and how her life is after it all happened.
3. I was hooked because in the beginning of the book the author added details like her hearing her parents talking about helping ghosts from a young age.
2. I think this book will be about the main character finding out about her parents secrets and how they help “haunted souls” find peace.
1. I chose this book because the title was intriguing and I enjoy books about the haunted and ghosts.

#30. A New Years resolution Mick would make is to completely stop using steroids. Or to push himself harder and get stronger than he’s ever been. #14. He would go on a 1-2 day road trip with drew but he wouldn’t go super far because he’s too mentally committed to the game even if he doesn’t end up playing. He would need to be able to if he decided. #13. If I could interview anybody in the book I would interview Mick and ask him what he would do differently next time. #11. My book doesn’t remind me of any book or movie, it is a unique story and path of events I haven’t seen or read about, this is why I was so interested in it in the first place. #10. If I could punch a character in the face it would be Matt Drager because he is the school bully/jock that led Mick Johnson down the path that made him attempt suicide. #9. I predict in the next 50 pages Mick Johnson will either fight Matt Drager if he sees him again or start using steriods. #8. Mick Johnson, the main character. He’s Hiding his use of steroids from his teammates, parents, and school. He uses to be the best player he can be for his team but he can’t play if the secret comes out.
#7. I would cast Mick Johnson as the Protagonist and Matt Drager as the antagonist. They each are competing for the starting spot on the team and are extremely competitive and will go to great lengths to “win.”
#6. I would have dinner Mick Johnson because I would like to know what his outlook is on how he would have done things differently if he could redo the last year leading up to the end.
#5. One character that is same as me is Mick Johnson because he is highly competitive and is willing to risk almost everything to reach his goals.
#4. The protagonist Mick Johnson struggles with his own strength and ability in football then uses steroids so now struggles to not get roid rage or severe depression.
#3. The hook was showing the massive amount of motivation the protagonist had from a very young age. It makes me want to see if it took him where he wanted it to. #2. I think the book is about the use of steroids in football. The term gym candy often refers to steroids and is figurative speech because it’s not actual candy. It’s injected testosterone.
#1. I chose this book because I just finished my first year of high school football and I was interested to see a possible story of somebody who takes it seriously enough to use steroids to improve their game.

14. If the main protagonist, Holly, could travel to anywhere in the world, I think they would go back to their hometown, Hollywood, in California, and she’d take her crush Ethan Winters, or her new friend, Stephanie

12. If I could have an interview with anyone, I would interview the main protagonist, Holly Chase. I would ask her why she looked up to Yvonne (her step mother) so much when she used to be a nice caring girl and then once Yvonne came into her life, she changed. I’d also ask why she left her best friend and stopped hanging out with her when they were the best of friends and more than sisters.

11. This book, being about scrooges (people who are selfish and not nice to others) reminds me a lot of A Christmas Carol. It also makes me think of it, because it’s kind of a spoof or remake of the story in a way, because it has quotes from it and they talk about A Christmas Carol in it, mostly the beginning, but it’s not an exact retell of it.
