There was a kid in my class that needed some space, so me and him went on a walk and talked about his favorite animals.

I worked with kids on their reading and syllable sounding out in small groups. Helped kids focus in and make sure to get their work done. When I was leaving the kids were at recess and ran up to the fence to say goodbye to me.

Today was a shorter day for the kids so I didn’t have as much time as I would on a normal schedule day but for today I sat next to a kid mason and helped him read, I introduced myself to the class and talked about why I’m there and the classes I took to get there and tomorrow I do my about me presentation!

I loved being in 4th grade and I got to meet the class and write names on papers for my partner educator. My partner educator is so kind and gave me a little tour of bear creek during her prep. I got to meet a blind student too and I look forward to working with him.

I had so much fun in my 4th grade class today. The kids remembered my name from when I visited from forever ago and they all had so many questions. I was also SO impressed with advanced the kids were, a mean they were learning stuff like squares and Pemdas!!!

During snack time a girl asked me if I wanted to do a drawing contest with her and her friend. After, I talked to a couple of kids and got to know them better.

They do math during the time I am there. The class is talkative in a great way, and I'm exited to work with them. One of my main projects is going to be taking kids aside and listening to their reading progress. I’m looking forward to that!

When I am there they do a reading in Spanish and also a group time were they talk about how they are feeling that morning, They also have time were they learn how to spell and learn new words in Spanish.

I had a sub for my first day and the kids went wild because their teacher wasn’t there. All the kids are so cute and sweet so it was very welcoming when I went in. They are in specials for the first half of my time there, then I pull kids to help with reading.

my first day was good i got to meet my teacher and got to know what the class is learning. I took notes on my first day we are learning animal defenses, and on that day most of the kids lost their focus but they were brought back and I noticed my classroom does have a safe, comfort , quiet corner. We read an article that day and the teacher read out loud and she had the kids say out loud or like kinda repeat what she said. I also got to know some of the kids names.

My first day I got assigned to work with a kindergartener boy Rowan. He struggles with staying on track and playing with classmates so I am there to help include him on the playground with fun games. He is a super sweet and smart kid who just needs extra help socially.

My first day I was put in a small reading group. I had four kids I was working with. They had an assignment to do based on the chapters they had previously read. I asked them questions about the book and they opened up a little bit. My teacher gave me a sheet to fill out about what I observed while with the students.

Im late to writing this, but my experience so far has been great, im not in a classroom but more of a mentor it seems. My mentee is a 5th grader named Liza, she is quite sassy but in a good way. Liza reminds me a lot of myself when I was in 5th grade which is why I think we bond so well. I’m also supposed to get an experience to work with the FAN advocate, but that is yet too happen, but i hope it will in the future. But overall this is a great experience!
