This video provides a brief introduction to the different anxiety disorders that may be present in children. It also touches on what may trigger, or cause, kids to have symptoms of the disorder. It shows how young children can be influenced by many things, and that can impact the way they react to certain things. For example, panic disorder, also known as agoraphobia, can have started from one panic attack which has now spiraled into a fear of having another one. Or PTSD, post traumatic disorder, which is very common in children. This disorder is caused by past events in a kids life that have been eventful and have majorly impacted the child's life. All the disorders mentioned in this video are some type of anxiety disorder because they cause kids to have symptoms of anxiety and nervousness. Among PTSD and panic disorder, the video also mentions OCD (obsessive compulsion disorder), social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, phobias, selective mutism disorders, and generalized anxiety disorder.

This video gives you a child's perspective on having an anxiety disorder. It not only is supposed to be told from a child's point of view, but it's also a great video to have a kid who suffers with anxiety to watch. It shows kids how being nervous differs from having anxiety. It also shows kids what and why they may be feeling that way. This is done by showing a character's life, someone who has anxiety, and how it affects him daily. A major part of the video is also insuring the child that even though they suffer from anxiety, they are normal. They are not different from any other child they see everyday at school. The video mainly focuses on social anxiety in children, but due to the fact that any anxiety disorder has similar symptoms, it can be helpful for anyone. It really assures the kid that just because they feel such things, they are not weird or "special". It tell's a child not to let their anxiety define them. Which in my opinion is an important lesson for anyone who suffers with anxiety.

This video is a three minute song designed to show kids how anxiety plays a role in their everyday lives. Although it may be a silly video, it has an essential part of learning how to deal with anxiety for children, and how you can help them. In the video the little boy Joey is having some issues with dealing and coping, much like any child that age. As he is in a school environment, his teacher is the one to confront him and help him get through this specific anxiety attack. The advice that the teacher gives are key points to remember when in a situation like that. As for why it's helpful for adults, it shows them one example of how you can help a child who is suffering.

This video is more informational and has more of an educational intent to it. A professor at UCLA goes in depth when explaining why and how anxiety may be present in young children. He says that anxiety in children is more than them worrying about things. When a child suffers from anxiety their nervousness or anxiousness gets it the way of their day to day activities. That's when you can really tell that a child is suffering from some anxiety disorder, when they can't get through they normal day routine de to worrying.

This is a documentary that tells many stories about different children suffering from a variety of mental disorders. And although the main focus is not anxiety, I believe it showcases a very important aspect of any child's life who suffers from a mental illness. It shows how not only different disorders, but different children can have an array of symptoms and reactions to those symptoms. For example, in the video, this one child is distancing himself from his classmates and teachers as a, what he thinks is, solution to the feelings he's having. In another case, a little girl experiencing the same difficulties, instead of excluding herself, she seeks attention. In attempt to receive this wanted attention she acts out in a violent and aggressive way. Both these examples demonstrate how young children may react when suddenly having these newfound feeling of nervousness, and not knowing how to deal with them. The video also shows adults what they can do to help a child who is suffering from a mental disorder. It also shows how to identify a disorder, and how to deal with a child who is suffering and may need help.

Overall children who experience any anxiety disorder can have difficulties in their day to day life. It is important to recognize the problem in order to start helping a child live a regular life, without these fears or anxiety interfering with their everyday schedule and activities. Every child is a different case. Not only will the symptoms be different, but treatments will vary depending on the child. In some cases, therapy might be needed, whilst in others, it may simply take a child reassurance of their situation and surroundings to help make them feel better. Another solution, which is not very common with children, is medication. It may help control whatever is off in the body. It is interesting how every single case of a disorder will be different. And although sometimes it may be hard to identify, it has been proven to be easier to treat and help a child than an adult experiencing the same difficulties. Which is also important to know because sometimes when an adult has an anxiety disorder, it is a result of a non-acknowledged problem during their childhood. Of course, that is not every case, but sometimes all these feelings have a root cause which can lead back to one specific even a series of events, or even just past experiences in general.
