The lightning thief is about a 12 years New Yorker boy named Percy Jackson, who has dyslexia and ADHD and lives with his mom and his abusive Stepfather. Percy was never one of those good kids, he was so bad he got kicked out of every school that he ever went to. Finally, as the summer starts, Percy and his mother, Sally, go to the beach. There’s a big storm, and the two are woken up by Grover, who’s Percy's best friend, who reveals he is not a human teenager, but a Satyr with goat legs. He tells Percy and Sally they are in danger, and they should drive to a mysterious summer camp. Suddenly, they’re attacked by a Minotaur, who knocks Grover unconscious and grabs Sally, who disappears in a flash of gold light. Percy thought his mother is dead, he attacks the Minotaur and kills it, then retreats into a nearby farmhouse. He wakes up three days later and finds he is at a place called Camp Half-Blood, a retreat for young demigods and he is one of them and also the son of a Greek god named Poseidon.

I think this cover best fits the book because, it summaries everything this book is about, for example where Percy Jackson is from, who his father is, the lightning, etc.

In the book “The lightning thief ” I like so much about this book. I like that when I’m reading this book I can imagine what’s happening. I like that the author Rick Riordan leaves us wondering what’s going to happen in the next chapter and that’s intriguing because it makes you want to read more. The most interesting part of the plot was the part where The Minotaur attacks Percy, Sally, and Grover because I could imagine what was going on. I remind me of World History class because a couple weeks ago we were learning about Greek Mythology and now I’m learning about it again.

Quote 1.
“If you're reading this because you think you might be [a half-blood], my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life.”
Page 1

I like this quote because it shows that not everything that your parents tell you, it’s not always true.

Quote 2
"When she looks at me, it's like she's seeing all the good things about me, none of the bad. I've never heard her raise her voice or say an unkind word to anyone, not even me or Gabe."
I like this quote because it shows what type of person Sally is and she is a loving, care person who's not judgmental.

Page 33

Quote 3
“If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great.

I would recommend this because by reading the book you can learn about history which is Greek Mythology. I like the way he started his book very bold and sarcastically, it shows type of person he is throughout the book. This book has some dark vibes with the god, so if you like those type of things, you will love this book.
