My old university (QMUL) has a pathology museum that has 4000 medical specimens on display. I haven't visited it as medical museums aren't what I'm interested in, but I understand that it's important for the medical/biological science students at the university.

I’m currently finishing my Masters at the University of Nottingham and we have a museum on site. We have lots of travelling exhibitions. Currently there’s an exhibition on the company Boots which has its roots in Nottingham. However, the main museum has artefacts ranging from the Palaeolithic to the Vikings!

My university does not have a designated museum or collections, but does collaborate with local social services and even houses some of their departments in our university campus building.

As my university has a strong emphasis on social sciences, having these social service agencies within our campus grounds helps with research and case studies that would be helpful for us when we work with similar groups in the future.

I'm an alumni from the University of Nottingham, and as someone else on this padlet has mentioned the university has a Museum of Archaeology. The university also has a Special Collections and Manuscripts, an archive accessible by any members of the public. It holds several vast and interesting collections, such as the East Midlands Collection, the DH Lawrence collection, Feminist collections and Medieval Literary Manuscripts.
