         <description><![CDATA[<div> <strong>  Air travel first started in 1903 when the Wright brothers successfully created a powered flying machine.</strong></div><ul><li>A decade later before the 1920's , airplanes were used for World War I</li><li>Planes were used to seek enemies at a far distance, and to attack by dropping bombs.</li><li>One of the worst life expectancy rate for a pilot in World War I was 69 hours.</li></ul><div><br><br></div><div><strong>   In the  early 1920's air travel really started to take off. </strong> </div><ul><li>After world war one other companies started to build more airplanes but this time not just for war but for traveling and faster cargo transportation </li><li>Pilot's that survived the war demonstrated their flying skills at carnivals, aircraft became an entertainment in America.</li><li>At first,  airplanes could only carry small weights so they were mostly used as a mail service.</li><li>People that did use airplanes for travel were mostly the wealthy because they were able to afford it. </li><li>Aircraft manufacturers made a new, bigger and better model every year , which eventually lead to the creation of airplane commercial use allowing middle class people to travel on a plane</li><li>Most of the early airports were open fields with a small waiting room.</li></ul><div>   <strong>The greatest advancements in aviation were made in the 1920's.
