During the first week, I went to a small performance where my cousin played the piano. He's been learning piano for three years, and this was his second live performance. The event was held at a local music school, and many families came to support their children. When my cousin came on stage, he seemed a little nervous, but as soon as he started playing, everyone was amazed.

He performed a classical Beethoven piece. I felt so proud and even a little emotional. After the performance, we took pictures and celebrated with cake. It was a special evening.

performance – uno spettacolo o un atto presentato a un pubblico
amazed –molto sorpreso o impressionato
emotional – mostra sentimenti forti, a volte con lacrime

In the second week, I made a traditional Mexican dessert with my friends from Mexico. We decided to make "torta de cacahuate". First, we made the dough. Then, we made the buttercream to decorate the cake, and finally, we decorated it with nuts. While we were cooking, we sang, talked, and laughed a lot. Once the cake was ready, we had a savory meal with it. It was delicious; very soft on the inside. I was happy to learn a new recipe and spend time with friends. We took pictures and shared the cake with our families. It was a fun and unforgettable experience.

dough - un impasto morbido e denso di farina e liquido utilizzato per preparare prodotti da forno come pane o torte

savory – una parola usata per descrivere il cibo salato o piccante, non dolce

unforgettable – qualcosa di così bello o significativo che lo ricorderai sempre

I used past continuous to describe what was happening while we were cooking, and past simple for completed actio

The smell of the place reminded me of my childhood mornings in Lima. I ordered chicharrón with sweet potato and bread.

I also invited my Argentinian friend, who had never tried Peruvian food before.

One of my most memorable experiences this summer was visiting the beaches of Sicily and Marina di Massa. I marveled at the crystal-clear waters and enjoyed swimming, playing volleyball, and relaxing with my family. The fresh pasta alle vongole I tried at a nearby restaurant was delicious, which made the day even more special. Another unforgettable moment was attending the Milan Latin Festival, where I enjoyed traditional Peruvian dances, delicious food like anticuchos, and even a foam party with friends. These events connected me to my culture and allowed me to share it with others.

Through these experiences and the exams I took, I learned several things in English. I still need to learn much more, especially when using past tenses, such as the simple past and the past continuous. Vocabulary related to nature, food, festivals, and emotions was helpful in describing several examples. For example, words like "crystalline," "traditional," "delicious," and phrases like "I felt proud" helped me express my thoughts clearly. Writing about these happy moments improved my grammar and vocabulary.
