      <description>An alumnus of Ohio University, Sharon H. Mastracci attained an undergraduate and a graduate degree in economics in 1992 and 1994, respectively, and later earned a doctor of philosophy in public policy from the University of Texas at Austin. She has nearly 20 years of teaching experience at post-secondary institutions, first as an assistant professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. Sharon Mastracci taught students at the school for six years in this role and for an additional seven years as an associate professor.

Since 2015, Ms. Mastracci has served as a professor of political science at the University of Utah. Alongside her instructional duties, she conducts research on public-sector work experiences with a focus on the emotional labor involved in public service.

Sharon H. Mastracci has written dozens of peer-reviewed articles regarding topics such as public administration, gender, and human resource management. Cited more than 2,000 times, her articles have appeared in The American Review of Public Administration and Public Personnel Management, among other publications. In addition, she has authored or coauthored multiple books, including Breaking Out of the Pink-Collar Ghetto: Policy Solutions for Non-College Women, Emotional Labor and Crisis Response: Working on the Razor&#39;s Edge, and Emotional Labor: Putting the Service in Public Service.</description>
