I think intelligence is subjective and also fluid. I think that there are so many variables that influence ones 'intelligence'. This is a major shortcoming of most intelligence tests. I think intelligence is something that takes work both to gain and to see in others. With so many different forms of intelligence I would argue everyone is intelligent in some way and I feel sad for this student who now has this internal struggle of perhaps seeing himself as not good enough. The word "intelligent" comes from the Latin for "understanding" and, even further back, it stems from the words "between" and "choose." I think intelligence is a capacity to understand, which I don't think can ever be accurately measured on a test.
