In Chapter 2 Violet went to New York to see Chloe her sister period. On the buss she met miss redwood on the bus miss redwood asked why are you on the bus by yourself. Violet replied I'm here to see my sister. Later on she asked how much kids would you like to have when you grow up and violet replied 7. Miss redwood was really suprised. Later a man came to them offering them anything miss redwood replied can this girl have one peice of candy infact 2 peices of candy. The man came with two peices of candy for violet the man. Then the man asked miss redwood if you would like something miss redwood soaid no thank you she also said im dieing. At the end violet said thank you to miss redwood for the candy.

Violets train was stuck for a long time. She thought she was going to be there for ever. So she asked a police officer for help. He asked violet wheres your mom or dad. Violet replied my sisters picking me up. The police officer asked wheres your sister at then she got nervous so she said oh theres my sister. and she ran to a random women. After that she met this girl myrtle.Then they started to ask eachother quetions.

Violet and merrtyle where figuring out what to do. Then merrtyle said befor we do anything lets wash up. Merrtyle showed voile wher she usaly washes up. The place was dirty and stinky. Later they showed up at a ladys house. Later they got into the conversaytion about jail. The lady said she has gone to jail many times. Then they talkrd aoute voting and how there could becom the 36th state. They also talked about the presedent. Then violet said theres a voting next novemner and i would like to vote. Then violet noticed different colored people are not different. And violet stared to worry about how she is going to find chloe.Then she was thinking that the people are going to bring her to TN she was going to ask merrdyl if she would like to come but merrydle was already a sleep.

In the beginig merdyle and violets woke up to breakfest. He had gon to the seddiment.But Miss dexter was still there. She said "good morning to them".And then Mr martin said "good mornig". Merdyle and violet where very confused with Mr marten,Beacause of the seddlement house.

In the begining myrtle was forced to sit in I'm jim crow car,while she was riding she met Mrs Morganser. Mrs Morgenser was kinda kind she even gave myrtle an apple. Then Mrs Morgenser said she was a slave and then got freedom. She also said that she also said that she had 4 children and one of her child was taken at only 1. Then myrle said that women wher aloud to vote soon. And Mrs morganson was not happy about what myrtle had just said. She said that she was a slave for many years and that there sitting this specific train for a reason because the white people didn't want to look them then she said so what makes you think that they'd let us vote. She siad all that with angry voice.

In the beging Mr Martin had left to go find them some drinks. So then violet went on to the train and found myrtle sitting next to an old woman so then then she said I brought you some food so the myrtle inturdoced the old women to violet. violet felt weird being the only white person in the colored car,but she had to get away from miss Dexter.Violet was getting a prickly and unomferbel feeling behind her neck,she turned around and thought averyone was looking at her. Violet loved Mr Martin because he was kind and would always stick up for her and mertyle.She then started to run the way Mr Martin had she soon ran into Mr main he had 4 bottles of root beer and gave 2 to her. She then dropped a bottle of root beer it shatter a breeze hit her face. Mr Martin called violet. She ran into a police officer and the police officer said why are you running violet said he jumped of. The police officer then siad have you seen a guy with 3 finger and running (describing mt marten) she said who then the police officer said where not going to get anywhere with this one. He then pulled her arm tight ow violet said.Violet then got into a train and me miss Kelly, Violet kept asking questons. Mrs Kelly then asked hows your friend doing on the jim crow train violet then replied shes doing good the seats aren't that comfertale tho.

In the beging Mrs Dexter made violet some grey oatmeal for violet. Violet soon got on a train and headed her way to the Nashville hermitiage hotel. On her way she saw Mr Martin and myrlyle chasing after him. Then she started to chase after him and a police officer cought her and.

In the begining violet was riding in an elevator. There was a teenage boy wearing a white ununiform who worked the controls. Wen violet was in the elevator every time she passed a new floor her stomach would lurch unpleasently. On the 8th floor there were several men who hope on the elvater,Violet recognized a smell of whisky she recognized it from back then her father used to drink it,when alcohol was still legal. Later she got hungry, she tried to find something, a few minuts later she ask the person at the hotel she was staying at where she could eat. He said "there is something up stares they'll have sandwiches. She went up stares there where alot of women and men there she then grabed a sandwich. The only reason they didn't kick her out was because she had a red rose on her. After that night she went on her way to keep finding Chloe. Eventruly she Chloe. violet sad that she had brought Mr Martin and mertyle, She just doesn't know where there are.

Violets parents gave away Chloe,Violets sister. Violet and Chloe talked to eachother through letters. And Chloe is a doctor.And in the story violets friend died from the Spanish flue. And violet decided to keep all the letters.

In the begining Violet woke up to sharing a bed with Chloe. They went

to to Mr Martin and Myrtle. Later they went to a hotel. Soon the manager and Mr Martin got into a fight about Myrtle. They where arguing about this hotel insnt for colord people. And that Mr Martin is always staying by her no matter what she looks like.

In the begining violet was in an ally with mertyle. Theye were waiting for Mr Martin. They had been there for 2 days already. Then they talked about voting. Later they violet merdyle said she was a spy. Violet got jealous. she then said Mr Martin is probily telling people what to do,causing a scene. hen violet sad"we should probably go inside and see what's happening. Merdyle then said " no that's going to cause a bigger scene.

In the begining violet was nicely dressed to eat in a dineing room at the hotel she was staying at. There was great food nice people and dessert. While violet was at the ball she saw merdyle there,dancing. After that people went to the lobby and started arguing about voting. And one person was wearing an anti women voting rose,this lady started yelling at them"we worked so hard and so long and your wearing a yellow rose we spent 72 years 72". Then the other person was saying how they don't want happen and don't support negros.

In the begining Violet woke up to the news that Mr Martin had been arrested. Later they then violet then went to oakland to vote. They crashed because she isn ta good driver. She then met this lady who said "why aren't you wearig your rose" violet then replied " Because I think I am going to support the suffrage" the lady then replied " I think I am too. At the end they had been expected to vote in a day. They thought "easy win".

In the begining violet had no idea where Chloe, Mr martin or merdyl was. she didn't know what to do. She find anyting to eat. So she tried to find Chloe's, Mr Martin and merdyl. She started to quetion herself if ever see Chloe again. she began to look for her in a big crowd. Then a woman started to yell'' out out get out. She then walked in the gallery. Ther where many voices. She then found a letter on the ground and started reading it. She thought it was wrong but did it anyway. A women then tapped violet and asked her '' do you know where the the women's laboratory is. Violet then saw a red rose o her dress. ( that means the women doesn't support the womens suffrages). violet then said NO THERES NO WOMENS LABRATORY WHY WOULD YOU THING THERES SOMETHING WHY WOULD YOU THINK THATS A THING. Violet then apologized for raising her voice. That woman looked very old and tired. She then later ran into someone on accident they then talked about the govaner. The person she ran into seemed very rude and uppset. She then walked up stares to the gallery wich was very hot. she then took a seat to a woman named Mrs Dexter. Mrs Dexter then yelled to violet '' There are too many red roses. Violets stomach then turned because the voting had began. At the end Mrs Dexter almost got into a fight about women's suffrage.
