Predict what Handa's surprise is going to be before you listen. You can make a new prediction halfway through if you change your mind. :)<br>After listening to the story once, you can play it again and this time you can discuss the animals that you see. Describe what they look like. Would you find these animals in the wild in Ireland?<br>There is a nice art activity at the end which will be in tomorrow's work. :)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Phonics</strong><br>Today we are focusing on the 'ou' phonic. Remind your child that although there are two letters, they only makes one sound. You can look up Jolly phonics group 7 on Youtube to learn the song for 'ou' and revise 'qu' from last week. <br>The video below is helpful for showing examples of words containing 'ou'. Go through the video with your child and practise blending ou words. See if you can come up with some different words with ou.<br><strong>Writing</strong><br>Choose 2 ou words and write them in sentences (your child can write more if they would like).<br>Encourage your child to spell words by themselves as much as possible while breaking them into their individual sounds e.g. m-ou-th, mouth.<br><strong>Handwriting:<br></strong>You can continue practising the capital letters for the week as recommended on Monday. <br>If you collected your Just Handwriting Practise Copy, you can do the next page.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we are going to practise the story of 10 using three addends (numbers).</div><div>Find 10 objects. Then draw 3 circles outside using chalk/use 3 plates to physically make the sums with your child. Put 2 objects on the first plate, 3 on the second plate and 5 on the last to make the first sum that makes 10. Your child can practise the different ways of making 10 using 3 addends e.g. 2+3+5=10, 4+4+2=10<br><br>To finish try this worksheet practising adding with 3 numbers. Once again you can print or write the sums into a copybook. Be careful because not all of the sums equal to 10! :)</div>]]></description>
