b. What is the + and - ? (Design, facilities etc)
Positive
  • Toilet at the ground floor is well accessible. (Accessible by wheelchair, Gadgets at the edge of the toilet to move from wheelchair to toilet and back, enough space)
  • Door at the ground floor toilet is easy to open

Negative
  • Number of well accessible toilets are limited
  • Toilets at the 2nd floor are very narrow and with less space, no chance to enter by wheelchair
  • Entrance of all toilets included the ground floor toilet is narrow
  • In men’s toilet no standing toilet for kids, also sink is not designed for children or small people
  • No automatic light swich, hard for people with sticks/crutches or rollators or general for people who have no hand free
  • No signage or help for blind people
  • All toilet models are different in terms of flushing the toilet
 
c. What is the accessibility level? (0 to 5), 0 bad, 5 good

  • The overall accessibility level is a 3.
  • There are toilets for people with disabilities, but the number is limited. You need an extra effort to go to the toilet when you can’t go to a standard one.
  • For blind people it is nearly impossible to find a toilet on their own because the signage and location is not very popular. There is also no guidance at the floor.

d. What to improve to make it more accessible for everybody?

  • Guidance at the floor for blind people.
  • Child toilets and sinks (place one sink and toilet per floor at a lower level)
  • Use an automatic light system in all toilets
  • Standardized all toilets (all from the same model, so that all function the same way e.g flush)
  • Less toilet units but more space per toilet, so it gets more comfortable for all
