Take the time to read all of these DQs, then type a thoughtful response to THREE of them (the title of each post should be your name). Your goal is to use evidence from the book if possible! Lastly, read the responses that your classmates wrote and reply to at least TWO of those comments. You can use your reply to build on what your classmate has said, to respectfully disagree, to share evidence, or to raise a new question. NOTE: use the command key and the minus key to shrink the Padlet view if you aren't able to see the replies to each post.

The author choses to end the story without ever saying how much her hair cost to get done. If you think back to the title its probably the cost of it. And I think this is really cool because before you read to story you don't know what it is and then it kinda answered my question, well what was the final cost.

Well I liked how in this version he was brave enough to Stand up the the "powerful" kids and is not scared to say what he wants to say. As we'll as the author chose to add a mind reading trait. Monk got it correct I guess he didn't say it because maybe he really didn't want to kiss her hold her hand or go to the movie he just wanted to be better than her.

I was never actually rooting for them, it was more of a "oh I'm rooting for Monk to just get a girlfriend" or something like that. I feel like they didn't really click throughout the story and they weren't exactly a good match. She was kinda just a jerk to Monk the whole entire time of the memoir and Monk probably just deserved better since he sounds like a pretty nice guy.

I was not because in many book and movies the "nerd" always falls in love with the popular girl and in the end the guy always ends up doing something that the popular girl thinks is cool. But he shouldn't have to change himself for someone. And she seems to be a mean kid and he doesn't deserve her.

It is good because you have no idea what the title means until the very end of the story and you want to keep reading to find out. Also, it shows that Monk doesn't want to abuse his power because he didn't say it even though he knew it.

The other gains are the ability to bring focus to certain words, and a more controlled passing of time. Writing in verse was the right choice for this story.
