Objective- In order to assist students in making comparisons between the society, history, and culture depicted in the film and contemporary society, the purpose of this project was to provide them with those tools. Students were also expected to be able to recognize various sorts of stereotypes, gender roles, broad and narrow perspectives, historical perspectives, and social and cultural influences as a result of completing this assignment. So that future counselors will be able to recognize these themes in their responsibilities as counselors and so that they can avoid forcing their beliefs on their clients, the purpose of this assignment was to assist future counselors in identifying these topics.

Approach- My strategy for completing this task consisted of watching the film "The Color Purple" in the role of a full-fledged counselor and engaging in a thorough analysis of everything that pertains to the time period shown in the film. In addition, I made an effort to steer clear of any preconceived notions that I had formed about the film from reading the synopsis and watching the trailer.

Objective- One of the goals of this task was to investigate several cultures that are distinct from your own. A person's perspective on their own culture was the subject of the assignment that was given to them. The purpose of this session was to aid with future counseling abilities. Not only did you have to listen to your interviews in great detail, but you also had to decide which information was most significant to the task and took into account the interviewees' points of view.

Approach- The strategy that I utilized for this assignment was to refrain from interfering in any way with the opinions of the people I interviewed. During the time that they were speaking, I also took a lot of notes, and I made sure to paraphrase what they had said to me and check for their approval. Because of this task, I believe that my listening abilities have significantly improved.

Objective- Understand the significance of professional dispositions and program standards/student learning outcomes to the professional role and professional setting. Draw connections between experiences as a learner and as a professional as it relates to professional dispositions. Develop an original disposition specific to the professional role through content synthesis and reflection.

Approach- In order to do this task, I made a concerted effort to simplify the dispositions in a manner that could be considered both official and casual. In addition to that, I made sure that each disposition contained as much of the ACA code of ethics as I could. Even while my presentation might appear to be somewhat lengthy and dull, it is actually oversimplified and is taken directly from the American Counseling Association's code of ethics, which counselors are required to adhere to.

Objective- The purpose of this project was to conduct extensive study on the community in which we reside and to identify any problems that we believe our counseling experience, in conjunction with any local partnerships, may assist with or bring to light. In addition, the purpose of this task was for counselors to determine the extent to which city concerns impact the mental health of residents.

Approach- Throughout the entirety of the project, I was required to examine my community as if I were an observer providing feedback on any problems that I identified. My primary concentration was on the young people in our community, the impact that the border with Mexico has had on our town, and the local connections that we have, such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club. I took into consideration the problems that I had witnessed while working and attending my local high school, as well as the fact that the kids of the city should be the primary center of attention for the community, partnerships, and mental health professionals.

Objective- One of the goals of this project was to give the student the impression that they are a real counselor who is leading weekly group counseling sessions. In addition, the purpose of this task was to provide the students with the opportunity to practice reading and putting together a real-life group counseling template, which they might encounter and be required to carry out in the future when they are working as counselors.

Approach- In order to meet the requirements of this assignment, I decided to focus on a specific group that I am currently working with in my capacity as a Special Education teacher. It has come to my attention that the majority of the assistants with whom I collaborate are experiencing a great deal of stress as a result of the fact that they are responsible for working with children who have special needs in addition to their personal lives. Many of the assistants that I work with are at least fifty years old. This is the majority of them. Because of the mental challenges that come with working in the field of education, I was concerned that they would develop physical illnesses as a result of their profession. The idea of creating a fake counseling group in education systems for instructional aides seemed much needed.

Objective- The purpose of this assignment was for students to engage in self-reflection regarding any boundary difficulties that they may have personally experienced and how those issues may impact their future jobs as counselors. In addition, this task placed an emphasis on preventing burnout in the workplace, implementing the ACA code of ethics, and developing preventative measures. This project is particularly helpful for students who may be experiencing feelings of fatigue or who may be questioning their ability to make ethical decisions. In these situations, students can always return to a boundary assessment in order to better understand their situation.

Approach- I took the approach of being truthful and sincere with myself when responding to any questions that were asked regarding my limits as I was working on this assignment. Before I even became a counselor, I wanted to determine whether or not my boundary issues were so severe that I might be in violation of the ACA code of ethics with my behavior. I also intended to build a case study in which you would wonder whether or not you have crossed a boundary; this is when the decisions that we make based on our ethical reasoning come into play. It was also via this assignment that I came to the realization that I was not properly practicing self-care in order to prevent burnout and exhaustion from work, and that this way of living will eventually catch up with me when I become a counselor and preventative measures need to be taken immediately.

Objective- The purpose of this project was to provide students with the opportunity to conduct research on a specific mental health topic and to assume that they were delivering this presentation to an audience and in a location of their choosing. Counselors were given this project with the purpose of assisting them in raising awareness of certain mental health issues and providing clear statistical facts to support their perspective.

Approach- During the course of this project, I attempted to put myself in the position of a counselor who was developing a universal power point presentation for a suicide prevention plan in the workplace. I was under the impression that an open discussion on suicide prevention could be held among coworkers from any profession with the use of this presentation. Through the use of this PowerPoint presentation, I emphasized the significance of paying attention to and recognizing the core characteristics of individuals who exhibit suicidal ideation while they are at work. With my presentation, I wanted to promote the concept of helping one another and not really trying to get someone in trouble because they are struggling with mental health difficulties at work. 

Objective- To engage in self-reflection and to gain an understanding of the significance of self-reflection in the counseling profession was the purpose of this assignment. The completion of this assignment will also assist in determining when it is necessary to engage in self-care when dealing with particular subjects or for particular clients.

Approach- In order to approach this task in the most effective manner, I decided to be absolutely truthful with my self-reflection. I also tried to picture myself in the role of a counselor who is already working with clients who are experiencing challenges that are comparable to those that I have experienced and how I would approach dealing with them. Additionally, I was required to be very honest about issues that I have not yet been able to confront as an adult, and I had to do so in a way that would not disrupt the sessions that I had with my clients.

Objective- In order to accomplish the purpose of this assignment, students were required to find a comprehensive research topic. There was a significant amount of pressure placed on the students to determine whether or not their topic was valuable to the counseling field and a different topic for qualitative and quantitative kind of study.

Approach- I decided to undertake my qualitative study with the intention of determining whether or not counselors were truly content with the career path that they had selected. Given the amount of time and effort I had invested in obtaining my degree, as well as the amount of time and effort that is still to come in the counseling field, I started thinking about this topic because I was having second thoughts about whether or not the counseling career path was actually for me. I knew that other students were probably experiencing the same thing. In my opinion, there is no better method to determine whether or not this line of work is worthwhile than by conducting study and gathering evidence on the subject. For my quantitative study I focused on the topic if counseling was actually successful towards our younger generations. I know this question is controversial because a large part of our society does not believe in the benefits of psychotherapy.

Objective- The objective for this assignment was to watch and reflect on video content demonstrating three different types of psychotherapies. Provide a written reflection for each type of psychotherapy. Identify and describe the therapeutic approach most applicable to professional role.

Approach- Person-centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Rational Emotive therapy were all depicted in these documentary films. Through my observation, I was able to observe how Gloria, the client who had participated in all of these therapies, had responded to each, individually. It was then that I witnessed the various ways in which the therapists conducted their sessions with her. To determine whether or not therapy would actually be beneficial for dealing with mental health concerns, I tried to put myself in the role of both a client and a counselor. When I was working on this paper, I spent a lot of time discussing how, regardless of whether or not a therapeutic theory is effective, it can also be seen differently depending on how the therapist uses the theory in their sessions. I came to the conclusion that I would use all three theories as a counselor in the future.
