What do you think was the significance of Bill telling Charlie how he felt.

I think it was supposed to in a way shadow the relationship him and his Aunt Helen had. He said that the only other person to ever call him special was his Aint Helen. The way he was able to call bill a friend even though he was his teacher shows that he felt confronted around him and may have seen him as another "Aunt Helen" and that's why he cried. - Kaylen

What do think the significance is behind Charlie feeling nothing about Sam's breakup?

i think the significance behind it is that he really does truly feel a way towards her despite her not knowing or being in another relationship. i think before she leaves for school, he will really tell her how he feels

No, Charlie's friends only consist of Sam, Patrick, Alice, Mary Elizabeth, a couple other seniors, as well as Bill. Charlie does not really have friends his age.

Did Charlie make any friends in his grade, if not is he going to be okay? I don’t believe Charlie has talked much about anyone in his grade, so when Charlie is alone at school I think he’s going to have a mini depression .
