Life expectancy is the estimated time a person in a specific area will live. Women tend to live longer than men by 3 to 5 years. More developed countries have higher life expediencies than less developed countries. Life expectancy is formed by adding together all the death ages of the countries people, and dividing it by however many people's ages were added together.
Canada has the world 12th highest general life expectancy, at an average age of 82.2 years. Canadian women will on average will live to 84.1 years, 11th in the world. Canadian men on average live to 80.2 years old, 8th in the world.
2. Living standard (or standard of living) refers to the wealth, comfort and goods that a person has. Socioeconomic status and groups are decided by the living standards of the specific person. Developed countries will have a higher standard of living, whereas developing nations will have a lower standard of living. Unlike life expectancy, there is no set number on standard of living. The standard of living is different for every person and is not numerical. Canada has a high living standard
3. Literacy rate represents the amount (in percentage) of adults that can read and write in a certain country. Literacy rate is formed like life expectancy with one small difference. One the final number is established, it is turned to a percentage. Developed nation have higher literacy rates, while developing countries have lower literacy rates. The global literacy rate is 86.3%. Canada's literacy rate is 99%, like many other developed nations. 
4. Economic opportunity is when person 1 is willing to pay person 2 money to do something that person 2 is willing to do for person 1. Economic opportunity can be a small business idea or a job. An import is a product entering a country.  Candas most imported products are computers and technologic equipment.

A trade deficit occurs when a country is spending more money on imports than its earning through exports. If Canada had a trade deficit, tax totals would increase.

Trade surplus is the oposite of trade deficit. Trade surplus occurs when the country is exporting goods faster than recieving imports. Seasonal weather effects this because if their is a good season, you can harvest more crops, resulting in more imports.

A: Exports are the goods and services made in one country and bought by another country. One of Canada's exports is wood.

Q: What are imports and what is one of Canada's?
A:  Imports are foreign goods made by another country, and bought by your own. For example, 6.6% of Canada's imports are cars. These cars are made in another countries and Canada buys them.

Q: What is a trade deficit?
A:  A trade deficit is when the amount by which the cost of a country's imports exceeds the value of its exports. Basically, this happens when the cost of the country's imports is greater than the cost of the exports. You calculate this by subtracting the cost of exports from the cost of imports.
Canada's merchandise trade deficit has narrowed to 1.9 billion dollars in the January of 2018 from a 3.1 billion dollars in the December of 2017.

Q: What is a trade surplus?
A: This is basically the complete opposite of a trade deficit. This happens when the cost of exports is greater than the cost of imports. To calculate this, you need to subtract the cost of imports from the cost of exports.
