When I was in elementary school it felt like we only ever had conferences with our teachers when we were doing bad or acting out. There weren't ever good conferences for our parents to know we were doing good. In my classroom I am going to have those conferences to talk about when they are not only doing bad but good as well.

When I was in elementary school, I can't recall a specific conference that I experienced, but all I know is that they were few and far between. I have always associated conferences as something bad, because they usually only happened whenever I did something bad.

I hope to use student-led conferences as a way for students to showcase their understanding of learning to their peers, parents, myself as their teacher, as well as themselves. This would be an opportunity for them to reflect on how they can benefit and grow from what they've learned and accomplished in the classroom.

Paloma Rodriguez #1 I experienced both Progress and Showcase type of conferences. They were always one on one and would show me some of my work and ask me questions about it, at the end they would also give me feedback on how I could improve for next time.

As an elementary school teacher, conferences are a good time to help students think about the targets and what they are learning. It is a good time to help students learn to engage in reflection and self-assessment. I believe that when students become more reflective they also have more control over their learning and that helps with motivation.

2- When having conferences with my students I want them to know how they are doing. I want make them aware of their performance, achievements, there progress. They also need to hear the good they are doing in class as an encouragement. Yes, address any bad that is happening, but make sure it doesn't outweigh the good.

2. In a high school history class, conferences are important. I hope to conference with students regarding their work. I want to monitor their progress on longer assignments, offer feedback, and give them helpful resources to use. Conferences can also be used to pace the students. The conferences can be used as a benchmark on longer assignments.
