Go green! Green goes with everything. Do you know what is “Go Green” or some say “Going Green”? It does not mean eating a green vegetable or being a green mutant human being. The definition of Go Green is to pursue the knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decision and lifestyles, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generation. Go green also known as environmentally friendly. Going green does not only mean recycling things but we can reuse all sorts of things that can’t be recycle or decomposed naturally in our daily life to reduce pollution, conserve resources and energy, reduce consumption and waste, and protect the earth’s ecological balance. This week the Go Green team have decided to use Tin as our reusable product as our first step towards A Go Green lifestyle. Tin is made up of aluminium tin alloys which does not decompose easily .it takes years for this material to decompose so it just takes the earths place or become breathing ground for mosquito. We can either recycle it to make new tin or reuse for other conventional purpose. In our case we are reusing it. Hoo Xue Wei decided to do a Money Box with the Tin, whereas Thivya made a stationary organizer and Dhivyaabarathi decided to replace flower pots with the tin and Hazarina use the tin as a candle holder. As for me I have recycled the tin early before this assingment. That’s all from the Go Green Team. :P

Previously,I have already collected some old plastic bottles and for the self-watering device,I found it at recycling area near my house,therefore I decided to reuse it. First, I did a medium size hole at the bottom of the plastic bottles and the at the mouth of the bottle I attached the self-watering device tightly. I also adjusted the flow of water according to my plants need. This is a very good idea as we do not need to water our plants regularly because by using this idea self-watering can be done.

Nowadays, as the human population increases year by year, the amount of rubbish we produced also increases year by year. Some of the rubbish are biodegradable but some of the rubbish are non-biodegradable. As all those non-biodegradable rubbish cannot be decomposed by bacteria and other living things, they have occupy lots of space of our earth and also cause land pollution. To avoid the problem of land pollution keeps on going, we need to do some action so that land pollution can be tackled as soon as possible.  

For this week, our Go Green team decided to use different reusable things which are tin, plastic bottles and gas jar as our second step towards a go green lifestyle. Thivya had use plastic bottles to make self-watering plant whereas Veno use glass jar to make decorative jar and utensils holder. Dhivya and Hazarina had use tin to make stationary holder and money box respectively. Through these ways, not only money can be saved by us by not wasting money to buy decorative jar, utensils holder, stationary holder and money box, but also can help to save our Mother Earth by reusing the things to reduce the amount of rubbish in this world. Besides, we also can save our time if we reuse the plastic bottle to make our own self-watering plant as we no need to spend lots of time to water our plants. (For me, self-watering plant is really a good idea.It is suitable for a person who always forget to water the plants or lazy to water the plants like me heehee…=P)

First,Veno have reused an old cloth and turned it into a pouch bag.This is a very good idea as old unfit clothes can be used in this way too. This pouch can be used to store money and also etc.
Next,Hoo Xue Wei have done a homade vase by reusing a  Apple Cider glass bottle. She have aded that she cleaned the glass bottle then filled up the glass bottle with some water and followed by beautiful flowers.
Next,Hazarina have done a plant pot by reusing a used plastic cup. Hazarina also added that by doing this, it will save our money from buying new flower pot.
Finally,Dhiviyaa have done a book shelf using a old shoe box.She got this idea from pinterest. By reusing the old shoe box into a book shelf, she is able to organise her books well and neatly now.

Dog toy also added by me on it. Through this way, not only I can use it which is ideal for watching video, reading, or simply browsing the web, facetime or handsfree operation, but also can reduce waste in our Mother Earth.

As per her explaination I got to know that it is used to prevent hanger markes on our clothes. She reused the tissue paper roll try to merge it with the hanger in her way to solve her problem. She also said this idea was found in Youtube. Hmm#resourceful# smart 
Next is Recyalable Storage Bucket- This is from Thivya with a 'T'.She used an old paper cup and also an old carborad to do this.She stated that its a multipurpose storage bucket.#ecofriendly 

Last but not least,
Our Missy Hazarina, She reused the McFlurry ice creame box from McDonald or like we M'sian say Mek D'..haha..She created a Pen Box. She mentioned that she had trouble organizing her pens. I myself know the trouble of misplacing stationary.Its the biggest headache i have now days thats why I created a strationary oraganizer in week 5.Its really a crazy and good idea ..After satifying our  cravings we still can reuse the waste.#zerowaste

FYI I'm a crazy tea drinker.i drink all sorts of tea mostly green tea and "Teh Tarik".After drinking the tea I realise the tea bag goes to waste and just decompose just like that in the dustbins. So i planned to convert it u a fertilizer for the plants. Since tea leaves are from nature let's give it back to the nature and let them benifit from it.
Using tea bags in compost adds that nitrogen-rich component to the compost, balancing the carbon-rich materials for the plants.

I felt to not waste my test pads and A4 papers. Hence I got an idea to reuse those printed papers during my last semester.
For sure the another side of the paper is unused and I thought to make use of it.
I cut those papers and Binded them with 2 rings.
You guys can take a look of it.

This week I had an idea to use those wsstes from fruits as organic fertilizer to the plants. Organic fertilizers are the fertilizers that are naturally produced and contain carbon (C). The main objectives is  to this feed  ecosystem as a whole, which includes the soil, microbes, and the community at large, not just the crops. 
For now I used the wastes from a mango fruit that I had as my snacks as the fertilizers for my plant.

It's very simple i just poke a few holes on the capof the bottle fill the bottle up with water and there's a diy water can. water plants using water direct from garden hose will flood the plants and eventually kill the plants. . If there is too much water or the soil is constantly wet, there is not enough air pockets. This results in a limited oxygen supply and plants are not able to breathe. so this water bottle watering can can help control the amount of water for the plants and it's also eco-friendly. If the botlle wear off we still can recycle it.

This is really a good idea for me as not only the leftover tea bag will not go to waste, the tea bag fertiliser also can balance the carbon-rich materials for the plants which is good for the plant.

Next, Dhiviyaa made some colourful alphabet flashcards by reusing her old UNO cards. Through this way, her niece can learn alphabet by using her handmade alphabet flashcards. Besides, her niece will also know to reuse the things since her childhood. Moreover, Dhiviyaa’s old UNO cards will not be wasted.

Furthermore, old colour papers and old catalogues were used by Thivya to make envelopes. Each envelops are unique as they were made in different ways. By making these handmade envelopes, not only she can use them, but also the old colour papers and old catalogues will not be wasted.

Besides, Rina reused her previous drink paper cup and converted it into a phone holder. Through this way, not only the waste paper cup can be reused, she also can use her handmade phone holder which will enable her to watch movie easily by using it. 

All in all, there are many types things can be reused by us. That’s all from us for this week =)

Put them to good use instead of the garbage bag. You can use them to store those itty-bitty items sitting at random sports around the house. 
Stainless steel containers are fantastic at holding items- decluttering space, keeping things neat and organized, easy on the eyes and even easier to find.
Simply give these containers a through wash and dry them. Aside from the spices, , nails and small items at hone , I can also keep my snacks nice and crunchy for as long as possible.

And we are planning to shift house soon. When I think about packing my books for a move, I probably think about using the traditional packing materials- cardboard boxes sealed with tape. Unless boxes and tape are brand new and haven't been exposed to the elements and the rigors of time and prior use, they are not going to be reliable. I won't be able to trust putting your heavier or more valuable possessions inside of them. Books piled into one of these boxes could end up breaking through or falling through the bottom when the box is lifted.

Hence I came up with an idea to pack those books in a polystyrene box and this box has it's own cover to close. I found it's easy to use.

The Chinese word ‘饼干’ which means biscuits in English also I wrote on a paper and sticked it on the outside of Quaker Oats tin can so that my family members can know that inside the tin can has biscuits. The reason why I use the Quaker Oats tin can is it is a good sealed container, the biscuits placed inside it will not become not crisp.
