The answer depends on the class. If the are not so dependent on Teacher guiding, then DI is practical and effective, since this will engage the HA/MA gp of students leaving the teacher time for the MA/LA gp of students.

I feel that every teacher would already have used DI in their classrooms before to varying degrees and on various scales, and that the practicality and effectiveness of DI depends very much on the conditions that need to be present before we can use it in the classroom, e.g., having a good understanding of how diverse your students’ capabilities are, having a manageable class who are able to follow DI and not be affected by the difference between what they are doing vis a vis what their classmates are doing, having sufficient time to adequately allow the slower students to go through the scaffolded task and challenge (i.e., not bore) the faster students.
