These are both attributes I have grown into over the years of teaching within the IB framework as the IB really challenges you to reflect constantly.   Caring about the learner (and the entire school community) is at the heart of the IB framework.
I feel these are important because they strengthen the learning process. Reflecting helps us to, very openly, look back at what we did and how we did it as well as routes to improvement and deeper understanding.

By being caring for each other we create a safe learning space in which ideas and concepts can be pitched without taboo (thus enabling other attributes such as critical thinking, risk-taking ect...)

As the initial impulse to seek to understand the world around them can then direct a student to build up their knowledge and skills.

Applying real world situations everyday so students get to know what is happing around them and having the chance to discuss such topics freely will help them grow and widen their points of view.
As for being inquirers they need to learn how to ask the right question and not to accept an answer without inquiring and researching for the answers by themselves.
