Men were more commonly shipped than women when it came to bringing them to their enslaved locations, as they were seen as stronger and more useful. They would've likely helped with farm work and gathering. Women did have a purpose, but it was much less required. They were used for cleaning, cooking, and other necessities. Things include reproduction, sexual abuse, production, etc. They were more exploited for personal matters rather than being used for wealth.

Slaves mainly spent their lives working hours upon hours on end. Some workers worked naked or wore the same clothes for months on end. Others were "lucky" to receive monthly sacks of food and clothes. Like the French "Code Noirs," religion was a big participant in "living" those who didn't follow the faith or belief of French colonies had consequences and were forbidden from certain activities, and were brutally whipped. If they denied it, they were punished with extra labor.
