On Tuesday December 11 2018 8 Neo-Nazi members 7 men and one woman started harassing an African American disk jockey in a bar before right up attacking him. The Asian bartender ran over to help the DJ however he was also beat up. The two were taken to the hospital, even though they did not suffer any lethal injures it deeply scared both of them. The names of the attackers are Travis Condor, Daniel Dorson, Guy Miller, Randy Smith, Leah Northcraft, Cory Colwell, Vincent Nutter, and Nathaniel Woodell. All 8 were arrested but only 5 were formally charged. Travis Condor, Daniel Dorson, Guy Miller, Randy Smith were charged with harassment, malicious harassment, and assault. Leah Northcraft was charged with harassment, malicious harassment. Cory Colwell was released on his own recognizance , and the other two Vincent Nutter and Nathaniel Woodell posted bail. It has also put counter protesters in danger. On August 12 2017 in Charlottesville a man by the name of Alex Fields age of 21 drove his into a crowd of counter protesters. Killing 32 year old Heather Heyer and injured Dozens of people. He was convicted of first degree murder and nine other charges and is facing a life sentence in prison and is also facing 30 hate crimes. While all of this is terrible it has also affected the community be spreading awareness not just in America but throughout the world. Schools such as Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School (MEH) have talked about racism being an issue in America and teaching them how to stop it. People organize against hate groups and are effective in public protests. On August 12th 2018 Sunday 2 dozen white nationalists protested in Washington state but were vastly outnumbered by throngs of counter protesters. The counter protesters said that a lot of their friends did not come because of what happened last year in Charlottesville, Virginia. The white nationalists left a very short time after they came. Kaitlyn Moore said she was there to "show that this is not ok." National and local law enforcement, as well a non-governmental organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center, are keeping track of white nationalist, neo-Nazi, KKK groups per state and the statistics are mind boggling.

Then discrimination will become a law in the country and then other countries will follow suite. However there will be people and countries that will stand up against racism. However considering how hostile the white supremacist are being the might be a war. In a jail in Germany the police intercepted a letter that was written to the a white supremacist group saying that he torched a black man alive! 53 year old John Daniel later confessed to torching 40 year old Robbert Miller. He killed him by pouring liter fluid on his head and then lighting it on fire. When I heard the news that there was going to be a hate rally I gathered the family and told them we were all going to counter protests the white supremacists. There were complaints about going out to protest in the smoldering heat and concerns about weather we would come out alive, but I was dead set on going. The kids were at school so it was only me and my husband that went. I knew that there would be some fighting between the counter protesters and the White supremacists but I was very wrong. There were people punching, kicking biting, and scratching each other. At one point a man garbed my shoulder and turned me around and punched me in the face. However I was just as fast to punch him in the face knocking him out. I could see blood on my knuckles and feel it on my face but I continued protesting. We then moved to a narrow street going to a different place. I was standing at the end of a line of cars hat were slowly trying to make their way out of the crowd when I heard it, the screeching of tire against the road I turned around and saw a man at the wheel in the car driving straight at me. I knew I was a goner, but I knew that if this happened then I would have triumphed we would have triumphed. I knew that no matter how many people the white supremacists killed, hurt, and screamed hurt full things at it would not solve anything. They are digging their own grave, the more they hurt the more guilty they become. Violence will not get them what they want, violence never does. So as I stood looking at the car like a deer in headlights I knew I was ready to go but I knew that this would add another log of wood to the fire that would burn Racism down.]]> 2019-01-27 20:44:34 UTC https://padlet.com/mckanel/aoo9njl23qmk/wish/324727442 mckanel https://padlet.com/mckanel/aoo9njl23qmk/wish/324730564 The problem is racism in America.  This problem has existed for a very long time, ever since European settlers arrived in the Americas.  European settlers believed they were superior to the native people and any people of color.  These incorrect beliefs, the enslavement of Africans, American laws of segregation, and economic barriers to people of color are some of the root causes of racism.  For example, Jim Crow laws that enforced racial segregation in the southern U.S. from the 1870s to 1964.
