I've completed 9 weeks of NoRedInk, I did the capitalization quiz without having to do practices and finished all but 3 topics on week 7 with the pretest. On week 10 I almost made 100% but I accidentally clicked the wrong answer, which I knew as soon as I did it. Every time I end up getting a question wrong I feel like I rushed myself on the problem as I typically get them right on the second time, on Week 12 I made two mistakes by not taking enough time to finish reading the sentences.

On week 15 I mastered 90% of the topics on the pretest! I finished on 10/3, I completed the final NoRedInk test with a 90%, this reflected my 90% quiz average. I had 97 topics mastered at the end and a 100% practice average.

I talked to the librarian before I read and she recommended to me a section of books based on the books I previously enjoyed. I find this interesting as it appears to be another view point of the Enders Game book I read last year. It wasn't stated as a sequel or prequel, but a parallel so I'm wondering if it's the view of the buggers or of another character. I expect this book to be another great work that I'll think about and remember later on. Other books I thought about were Ready Player One and Dune

During Reading - Thoughts

I'm really enjoying this book thus far, I even believe that without reading Ender's Game this book would still be enjoyable to readers. I love how this book is exactly how it is advertised, a parallel of Ender's Game shown through a different character, Bean. I would recommended reading Ender's Game before as it adds a new sense of depth to the book, a new point of view that you would have not realized existed before reading Ender's Shadow. Learning about Bean's early life and experiences throughout the book really shows how even though some of the world is progressed and advanced, like America where Ender lived, other parts have gangs full of kids and teens like in the Netherlands where Bean lived.

I've come across words I don't know, like degradation, haranguing, tarpaulin, ostentatiously, and stupefaction. I was able to figure out most of the words through context clues but, nevertheless, I had to search in a dictionary. What I love about reading books, especially older books, as they typically include words not commonly used anymore and broaden my knowledge.
