1. Be on time
2. Be prepared, have all supplies
3. Be respectful to yourself, peers and teacher
4. Be kind
5. Come into class ready to work
6. Always do your best

These will be the classroom rules and responsibilities in my classroom. I will present these to my class on the first day of school and Students will follow them and if they do not there will be actions I take in response to that ( Blewitt,2012). First reminding them of the rules and responsibilities of the classroom and if I have to remind them a second time they will get one lunch detention, sitting in my room during lunch to eat as well as work on their work for my class. Third time will follow with a call to their parent and a fourth time will be a parent teacher conference. Fifth will be going to the Principles office for further discipline.

Not only will being prepared be a rule and responsibility for my students but a rule for myself in the classroom as well. I will have a good lesson plan every single day planned, to keep the students interested and moving forward (Blewitt,2012). I will have group work as well as individual work. Different students learn differently, that will be accommodated into every lesson as well. My classroom will be set up in the best way possible suited for the students.

Incorrect behaviors in the classroom will have consequences. With that I will not push aside the students that are acting out. Instead I will acknowledge it and redirect it (O'Ferrall, Green, Hanna, 2010).
Students do things to get attention. Some may not get attention at home so they have developed ways to get it. That is where we as teachers step in and give them the attention they need. Show them we care, show them we love them and see them. Teach them that, that is not the way we act but show them the correct way( O'Ferrall, Green, Hanna,2010).

As once being a student, I needed encouragement. In my classroom even in the bad behaviors and negativity of the students I will encourage them to do their best and let them know I will be open and available when they need me. With that letting them know how they can get a hold of me when needed. I will not put anybody in my classroom down and make them feel inadequate. My students will always know if they think they have nobody, they have their teacher. I will encourage every student but the students who are always doing what they are supposed to in the classroom will get positive reinforcement, getting homework passes, able to earn extra credit points etc.

I have a student in my classroom who does not get much attention at home. Her parents live a rough life that a 14 year old should not be apart of. Due to this Isaiah acts out in my classroom, not finishing classroom work, not participating in group work, has his head down the majority of the class period etc. I stated my classroom rules with him and followed my actions and procedures leading all the way to the meeting with our principle. Nothing seemed to be working. I began to invest more time in his life other than just hounding him to act correct in class. I would go watch his sporting events as well as tell him how good he did after, talk to him in the hall way in passing classes, and encouraged him that if he ever needed help to come to me. Once I began truly showing him I cared about his life and education he trusted me. His actions and attitude about class and in class changed. His work began coming in on time, his head was hardly ever down in class etc. Encouragement and involvement in a students life goes a long way.
