Much like Levittown, Santa Clarita hosts a prominent suburban community. According to the 2010 census, 41% of the 60,000 households in Santa Clarita had children under 18 living there. Along with several nearby school districts, Santa Clarita is planned to hold families and raise them. In fact, the median age in Santa Clarita is 34 years compared to the national average of 37 years. As a result, Levittown houses had the same look. They were one-story buildings with a kitchen, a living room, and enough bathrooms and bedrooms. Santa Clarita suburban houses also conform to the same look. They are usually white and grey with a brownish roof. They all have garages, backyards, and different labeled garbage cans, like in Levittown. While style maybe different inside, Santa Clarita houses have plenty of rooms for sleeping, working, and bathing. Other then a few older buildings, all houses in the valley are stucco-built, meaning that they are built with wood and then covered by a material called stucco. Levitt had turned a family's home into an assembly line and created a thought-out plan to create a community of Americans. A few decades later, Santa Clarita would adopt similiar ideas. Houses, streets, schools, parks, stores, town centers, and an amusement park (Magic Moutain) were all planned out to meet the demands of families. Until the 2010 census, Levittown was recorded to be over 90% white. Even though Santa Clarita's white population has a smaller percentage, it still accounts for 70% of all Americans in the valley. Both suburban communities even have Asians as their second largest ethnic group and black Americans as their thrid largest. Even though are the overwhelming majority in both communities, both Levittown (After the 1950s) and Santa Clarita saw a drop in the percentage of whites and an increase in minorites.
